Sorry for the double posting but I think it's worth it because I just improved the maximum score in DOTK to 110.909

You have to get hit to reach up there but that's not that big of a problem since the combo itself is not too hard. Maybe a little annoying. With 4 triple-lums-glitches the maximum is 111.309, I guess a difference of only 400 points is not too terrible.

Interesting... One question though:

9 Yellow Gems + 6 Red Gems on the right + 5 Red Gems on the left = 20 items, going by the video? How did you end up at 19?

lol, you're right. I must be completely retarded. The new combo is up, I guess this trick to get out of bounds was really hard on my brain...

By the way 1234, do you know how much exactly you could have after SBTC2 with your new Combos? Funnily enough, your Hoodboom-Combo may have solved a problem I had with another Combo, but I'll have to test that out myself. If, even without getting the second Elite Monger with a Powersuit, you can get ~105k like you estimated, then I might look even deeper into SBTC to see where we'd end up.

105k would be crazy though, wouldn't that mean you'd have to get like at least 83k just in Part 2? And does anyone know how much the Lum-Glitch might affect this Score?

You have no Hoodlifters in this part, which makes the lums glitch less powerful. When you try to focus on getting Lums glitches you definetly yield different results than by just converting them randomly. DTUCC made some statistics about forcing lums glitches when he played DOTK part 8, I'll ask him for that. With that we could calcuclate how much you can expect to get.

EDIT:
Ok, he doesn't have it anymore. But I remember that a double glitch is slightly more likely than no glitch and there's a small chance for a triple glitch so if we assume that the player gets really lucky we can count every lums twice.

Yes, it's possible. You have to be lucky though. I have never succeeded in combining this with the launching on the edge and getting the Green Gem. For the patient player it's possible to get a few hundred more points by getting these three details right.

Have you finished SBTC? If so, what's your score?
By the way, good job getting the Matuvu and the Tribelle in the same combo in HH1

Cool I've been trying various strategies to get to the level below myself.

As for a statistic, I made one when playing this part years ago. For those familiar with the bell curve, the mean is around 6 - 7 Lums and the standard deviation pretty small. I managed to get 10 Lums a few times every day. I have never got 11 or 12 Lums in all the time I have played DOTK8.

One more fact on Lums conversions. On consoles you have to be very near the Lums to be able to convert them. That was the reason in the very old days PC players were the only ones to be able to get the Lums in DOTK8. In modern day, console players have a hard time getting all the Lums in HH and TOTL because some are too far away from the natural position of Rayman to be converted. It's a minor complaint, of course.

Oh yeah, I heard of that issue. I guess it's a little make up for the missing lums glitch on pc^^

BTW MandM, 3 questions:
what are your level scores I wonder?
how long will it take for you to be able to play again?
and have you ever been able to combo the Heckler in HH2 for 2500?

I'll start a score attack lol, I'm aiming 200k as I've really played the game 6-7y ago, bad I've lost my PS2 saves <.<. I'll redo from scratch den, will all glitchs works on PS2?

The Ship-Glitch doesn't work on PS2 but there is an alternative which still allows for 20.5k after SBTC1. You should be perfectly fine with PS2, the jump height is a little lower there but it's barely relevant (the order is XBox > GameCube > PS2 > PC)

Thanks for this, what ship glitch also? Would it save time in a TAS?

Aaaaaah okaaay, also I've had two questions:
1. Is it normal some of the combos weren't working on Rayman 3 HD? (Like the one at start of Lotld1)
2. I didn't understood how to pass the 100k limit, mind explaining me?

I guess the Rayman 3 HD engine is simply a little faster, which makes the combo run out slightly earlier so I wouldn't recommend this version.

You can't pass 100k but simply taking an element. When you have 99.384 and take a green gem, it won't give you points. Also, once you passed 100k it's impossible to lose or gain any more points. You can pass 100k only by a combo so the reason why there are set maximum scores in each level is: we pick the biggest possible combo and get exactly as many points as necessary so that we can pick up all elements and then have 99.999 before the combo gets added to the score.

There are execptions though: you can pass 100k by having a powerup sometimes. For instance, when you take a green gem with a powerup while you have 98.499 points, you'll have 101.499 points then. Or when you take a matuvu with powerup at 99.749, you'll have 100.249. It doesn't work with bosses though, if you kill Razoff in BOM6 with a powerup while having 98.499 points, you won't get any points. But on the other hand, the 100 points you get for knocking Razoff off his ball with the HMF is able to pass 100k that way, that's the reason why the BOM maximum is 100.899.

Also Full Hit bonuses can pass 100k, when you kill a hoodlum in one hit at 99.899, you'll have 100.029.

It displays your score but it lack's the 6th digit (so when you have 106849, it'll show "06849").
Yeah, you can pass 100k with any combo. Best case scenario is that you pass it with the biggest combo in the level which is not always possible.

Wow, just wow, it's insane you all did this work O_o
I think I'm gonna run the GC version on Dolphin, because the loading times are pretty long with my scratched disc <.<

I have finished my duties about two weeks from now. Then I'll start practising combos again.

As for level scores, I'll post some screenshots as promised earlier. Just haven't gotten around to it.

Finally this Heckler. Well, I can't do it. On the video, it shows the Heckler being killed with two series of three shots after the Shield being off only twice. And it all happens in around four seconds.

I have never been able to get more than three non-charged shots in for one Shield time, thus I need more than two Shield times to kill a Heckler. It's a downside in HH2 of course, but it's even worse in TOTL1 the big room, where I could string together a hell of a combo if I could kill a Heckler in four or five seconds

Have you been able to get this Heckler in a 2.500 points combo? Has anyone else?

As far as I understood the heckler is dependent on your system performance. On my old shitty PC, I can do this combo. On my new one it's pretty much impossible. With Fraps it's possible to lock the framerate at a low number, e.g. 24. When I do that, I can also play this combo. I already thought that Xbox might not be able to play this combo since the Xbox-performance is way better than on PS2 or GC but good to know that you can confirm that. Well that stinks if we're trying to go for a new maximum in HH...

Is 22910 on FC good or not, as I've seen no combos at all on internet? (teensie highway counted)

There are plenty of combos for FC. I'll make a spreadsheet with all videos, that should help I guess although it'll be plenty of work.
22910 is a decent start, although there is a lot more to come. IMO the best is to just finish the game and then decide what you're going to improve first.
