I wonder who came up with that idea!

Anyway, I also liked this one recently:

Not that I've given it a try, now I'm just waiting for the release of the remake tomorrow.

I watched some videos of the remake and it looks great! I'd like to see if it looks good in PS4 too. If yes, it's definitely a must have :D
Los ganados aren't hilarious af anymore. I'm definitely missing that "detrás de ti, IMBÉSIL" :lololol:

They kept the line, but it doesn't sound anywhere as funny as it used to. :oops2:

Speaking of which, the game is really amazing so far. I played it pretty much the entire weekend (30 hours, I'm collecting and exploring everything), and I only just beat Salazar (I doubt that it's much of a spoiler that they kept him :P). Haven't gotten to playing it again since Sunday because of work and nights out (and finally announcing the results of SpeedRay ), but hopefully I'll resume tomorrow night.

What I think when I read posts about people that are enjoying the game:

These days YouTube's algorithm is mostly showing Resident Evil 4 clips. I wonder if we can do this in the remake too

It looks like you can't really slam doors like this anymore in the remake, though barging in might trigger something similar (I haven't tried).

Anyway, this remake really is a masterpiece. The first thing I did when I completed it was to start a second playthrough. Maybe there's a couple things they've cut that I missed at first, but overall they've managed to stay true to the original by retaining the most important and iconic elements, all while innovating with a bunch of additions that are more than welcome.

I'll try to write a detailed review later, but what I can say for now is that while the game did not need a remake, I'm glad they made one.

They still should have remade Code Veronica first, though. :mefiant:

It's curious to see how people's opinion of this game has changed over the years. It reminds me a lot of GTA 4 in that sense. As time has gone on, people have come to appreciate more how good Resident Evil 4 was. I'm not a fan of remakes because it's pretty easy to mess it up (and I agree with you, RE 4 didn't really need a remake as the mechanics aren't that rough), but wow, nothing to complain about when you see remakes like this one. I'm curious about your review.

It's probably a matter of time most of the old Resident Evils get their respective remakes, so not surprised if they finally do it with Code Veronica.

I thought the original Resident Evil 4 was appreciated from the very beginning? At least, it appears to have consistently featured in the countless lists of "best video games of all times".

Anyway, I agree that the older titles are probably next. In which order though? Code Veronica should have come after 3, and yet they went for Resident Evil 4 straight away, so I hope they don't forget it. Despite my fond memories of playing its coop mode with friends for countless hours, Resident Evil 5 was a meh game that copied its predecessor with little to no inspiration, so there's potential for a big remake, even an overhaul here. As for Resident Evil 6... there's pretty much nothing to keep here. Even a perfect gameplay will never make up for the sheer amount of goofiness in the game's story, so I'm not sure how they'll approach it. And then, RE7 is what revived the series, and piloted the engine used for the remakes, so definitely not a candidate. Or, the first Resident Evil 1 remake being almost 22 years old already, there's really nothing wrong about a remake of a remake. And Zero could follow, that game had a lot of cool stuff too. Let's see what they decide!

I video showing how RE4 would look like as an 80s film:

Also, I've been watching some of those "Welcome to Hell" mode videos, I remember that back when I used to play the Mercenaries, just having one Super Salvador in the map was stressful enough, having to face an army of them is something I would not want to do myself, but is fun to watch I guess.

Pretty nice! Looks like this was made with OpenAI's Sora, I wonder what results Veo 2 could yield now.

As for Super Salvador, he was indeed a nightmare. One thing though, this guy someone manages to always align them in front of him, something I don't remember ever being able to do in regular Mercenaries gameplay. I would always get surrounded if staying in one spot for too long...
