Rayman (kinda) confirmed for Smash Bros. - VOTE Rayman

This video is definitely fake and this guy is clearly trying to promote his channel by claiming he made the leak.

What makes you even think the "footage" of Rayman in the character selection was real anyway?

Either case, I wasn't going to believe it at all until I seen some actual game footage, like a battle.

I don't get how people think this is funny, it serously broke my heart when i learned this was just something stupid made by a lifeless jerk... i'm always in for a joke but this is just a nope...

Update: A representative from Ubisoft said the company is looking into the situation and will make a statement on Tuesday.

Hmm, that statement could mean anything, to Ubi's confirmation, or them investigating the usage of their IP. For the time being, I think it's back to skepticism for me.

If by some case this guy really did fake the leak and Rayman upcomming DLC is fake (which I don't think it is), I hope Ubisoft charges him for unauthorized usage of their IP.

To be honest, while it is a bit of a downer, Rayman isn't the be all and end all in life. I love the series, don't get me wrong, but this facade was impressively done.

Well, you gotta think about this for a moment, OCG.

If he was charged for such unauthorized usage, then wouldn't that technically mean Adsolution would be charged for his game, by using Rayman?

While I can agree it is a bit mean to do to the fans who really want Rayman in Smash Bros., but something like this should have been saved for April Fools at the very least, so people wouldn't think of it so seriously (the footage) and then reveal the truth later.

Adsolution is doing a fan project which 99% of companies like (including Ubisoft since if they didn't, they would shut it down already long time ago, and plus they never shut down any fan game) while if this guy is not fake, he was taking advantage of existing game and deceiving the mass which are in my view completely different things. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if Sakurai charged him instead of Ubisoft.

If it's true that this is a fake, then the guy did an incredible job in making it look as authentic as it does. Not going to say concretely that it proves it's fake, but the video evidence he gave is quite damning imo. And if his plan was to promote his channel, it sure as hell worked either way, lol.

You can bet, I nearly fell for this! :o

I'm upset though since I started to have hopes. It is an incredibly well made fake picture/video.

Because other people are also lifeless.
People who think these kind of things can't be taken seriously are also the basic mass who were excited for 50 "new" features in the Wii U Smash, that were already in Brawl. The same mass thinks Ridley is too big for Smash, even though there's this:
They also enjoy 8 player mess. They also wouldn't like a 100 character roster with online balances, because their simple minds couldn't handle it.

I'm actually fairly certain that what this guy did was at least somewhat illegal.
Agreed. Even if DLC is real or not, what he did was illegal. In case DLC is real and Rayman will be released, what he did can be treated as sabotage and damaging because he is trying to convince others otherwise, and he owns neither Smash Bros nor Rayman rights. This is why I said this cannot be comparable to fan projects such as ROTD. ROTD is positive for franchise but this stunt isn't.

If DLC was never planned, then what he did is even worse. And I am not saying this because mad fans will hate him but he could get into legal trouble. Imagine if someone created strongly convincing Super Mario Galaxy 3 Trailer and said it is comming this Summer. All aboard hype train, everyone gets crazy and Nintendo then must confirm it is not real. Imagine the Nintendo's position. They have to let down a lot of fans. You think they wouldn't file a lawsuit against person who created fake trailer if that scenario ever happened?

I'm impressed with the attention to detail the creator of the leak had, very well done. I'm also really glad that it's fake, that means Ubisoft isn't quite ready to let Rayman become more widely known as a hideous eyebrow guy. I hope that design remains hidden away as a trophy.

Indeed.

One fact will always without a doubt be real though. Bradandez loves those eyebrows :P
