Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
Hm, maybe just replay Candy Château of Rayman 1 and you'll see that our beloved Dark Rayman is not and hopefully never will be Mr Dark, even if they share some similarities.Lazicful wrote:Mr. Dark is Dark Rayman.
Think about it, the blue-ish color, the yellow eyes. He was prolly a failed creation or something. Maybe he consists of Dark Electoons like Rayman, who consists of... Well, pink Electoons. Also he's limbless (I know everyone was limbless in Rayman 1, but we haven't really seen him since) and he's always wearing that cloak and hat to hide his appearance. Wait why did I say this
Definitely this. The mystery or more specifically his mysterious appearance keeps the character alive as a whole. Every reveal of a whatsoever identity would fundamentally destroy the whole concept of one of the most recognizable badass characters of Rayman history. He may be a shapeshifter like Ales, but I think shapeshifters in Rayman can't take any form they want, just some specific ones. If that weren't the case, Mr Dark could just cloak himself as Betilla or Rayman and that would be very dumb in terms of storytelling and overall authenticity in my opinion.Master wrote:Meh, at this point, I feel that anything goes, guess it'd be a bit of a twist to have DarkRay revealed as Mr. Dark. Though in all fairness and honesty, I'd find any revelation of the sort to be underwhelming, I feel that Mr. Dark can and could be built up more in terms of who he is, but completely tearing off the cloak would kill the character for me. I feel it's that air of intrigue and uncertainty (mixed with the completely odd name) that makes Mr. Dark who he is.
Ah yes, I was summoned by this out of some the deepest depths of some unholy grave or anything similar to that.Adsolution wrote:Iunno, but you're sure giving Plejadenwolf a run for his money.Lazicful wrote:Wait why did I say this

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
Is there perhaps going to be an update video or even a demo released any time soon?
Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
He's not really limbed on this skin. He's just wearing pants.

Did you manage to find a new programmer, Addy? I thought I recalled you running into some problems with your previous one?

Probably not soon.JeffreyHikariKurai wrote:Is there perhaps going to be an update video or even a demo released any time soon?
We have Serza who will likely be joining next year, but she isn't free at the moment. Otherwise, no.Shrooblord wrote:Did you manage to find a new programmer, Addy? I thought I recalled you running into some problems with your previous one?

Hi rayfan1978
Do you have a release date for your game
And are you going to sell it to Ubisoft and let them release it for consoles?
Hope you will reply

I'm certainly not going to sell it to them. Publishing would be great though!Rasmushauschild wrote:And are you going to sell it to Ubisoft and let them release it for consoles?

Just to ask, what publishing arrangement do you have in mind at the moment?

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
A very hypoothetical one which involves eventually presenting it to Ancel. He's apparently the kind of swell guy you can talk to, and he's the best chance that I have. If he likes it, as Rayman's creative director, there's an incredibly high chance that it could work, especially given that it's not coming out of Ubisoft's paycheque.PluMGMK wrote:Just to ask, what publishing arrangement do you have in mind at the moment?

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
Is there like a summary page with everything so far created with pictures?
From time to time I just love to look at the little pics and videos you post and that would be so much easier than searching page after page on the forum
If you don't I understand, as it'd take some time to create
Anyway, I'm sure I've said it, but best of luck with the project further on!

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
I think he said something about a website being created soon, so id assume that would have a summary of everything. (Or at-least i think so)Imco97 wrote:Is there like a summary page with everything so far created with pictures?

Also @Adsolution I was also wondering if you would like to use any of these models for your project?

A question Ad, are you planning to make a first person view in the game ? (Like battlestations)

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
Unfortunately not, yet. Like incognito said, there will be a website.Imco97 wrote:Is there like a summary page with everything so far created with pictures?
We want to do everything ourselves (having a few props here ad there outsourced would be inconsistent and out-of-place), however, I really like that R2 prototype soldier, and I might ask you to send it to me soon!DandyGuy wrote:I was also wondering if you would like to use any of these models for your project?
If you mean a 'look mode' like in Rayman 2 and 3, then yes. If you mean to run around in first-person, then no.incognito wrote:A question Ad, are you planning to make a first person view in the game ? (Like battlestations)

The soldier's pretty sweet, yeah! Hey Ad, always wondered if you decided for or against my zombie scholar idea in the end?

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
That sounds like a very damn good idea. I mean, we all don't know what comes after Rayman: Legends (except for Beyond Good & Evil 2) or if there are any Rayman games in the works or either planned. I agree that Ancel is maybe the one you have to talk too and I think possibilities for a good outcome aren't that bad either, provided that you are able to get in contact with him. You have a fantastic looking game, mindblowing concepts and all that kind of stuff that many of the great publishers don't have (anymore). So, at least I hope it won't be that hypothetical though.Adsolution wrote:A very hypoothetical one which involves eventually presenting it to Ancel. Hm, I really like the Pre-Henchman. It always reminds me of that "recycled" level in Rayman 2 from the original canceled prototype in which those guys were featured. Nice job!DandyGuy wrote:I think he said something about a website being created soon, so id assume that would have a summary of everything. Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
@Adsolution I understand all in-house with very little out-sourcing. (Id assume anyway)
@Plejadenwolf It is from that recycled level in Rayman 2.
@ Shrooblord Thanks

Just to know, did I miss a lot of things in the last past year?
Should read the last 50 pages or so, would help a lot, I guess.
