Re: What games are you currently playing?
But in all seriousness, I actually do think it's a really good game. I have to thank Plum later by the way for getting me hooked on this.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I'll probably be the same when I play it.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Did you finish it yet?
Anyway, these aren't games that I'm currently playing, but ones I played recently… I replayed Black Mesa during the week, despite having promised myself I'd wait for the final release (with Xen). I had found a mod purporting to add Xen chapters closely matching the original Half-Life, but it hadn't been updated in just over a year, so it doesn't actually work with the current release anymore.
Anyway, as for the official game itself, I was once again blown away by how well-done the whole thing is. When I was younger, I was somewhat put-out by the way in which they "gutted" the On a Rail and Surface Tension chapters, but now I think the remade versions are just right, and not dragged out. (Indeed when I first played Half-Life I did find those chapters dragged out, so I seem to be coming around to my even younger self's viewpoint!
) There were a few moments where I was really upset about having to attack. For example, at the beginning of Questionable Ethics, the Houndeyes that escaped from their cages are (unlike the quite annoying original) asleep, and the animation actually reminded me of my own cats. It broke my heart to have to shoot them upon accidentally waking them up. There was also a moment where you have to take two soldiers by surprise, but you can hear them discussing how disgusted they are to be firing on civilians. Things like that really cement the notion of someone doing what they have to do in an impossible situation, probably moreso than anything in the original game (at least for me).
EDIT: Okay, I've discovered that Surface Tension is no longer gutted. Well, that explains that!
Also today I decided to quickly play through Portal, basically out of nostalgia. Tbh it was quite cringey, since basically every single line in the game has become an overused meme by now.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I’ve only played the first HL, and it was yonks ago (or at least it feels like it) so my memories are pretty fuzzy. I’ve got all of the other HL games sitting in my Steam library so I guess when Black Mesa comes out I’ll have to marathon the series. Also never played BG&E but it sounds pretty great, I'll have to give it a play over the holidays!
I've been playing a few games on my PSP which I'd never given a go before, one of them being Lumines which is one of those falling block puzzle games. I'm not usually a fan of the genre but I quite like this one, it's got a much greater focus on fast thinking.
I've also played a bit of Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles but I didn't like it as much as Symphony of the Night, it's a lot more clunky in terms if movement and it's less of a Metroidvania and more of a standard platformer.
Finally I played a few games of Civ V not long ago but only finished one. And my friend who always wins won again...

....with this save file. 1 more to go.
But who cares? Now that I'm done with one file, I'm going to move on back to my other games, starting with PMD: RRT!

Haven't played MLB The Show 18 in awhile, so I played in career mode for about an hour. Gotta update it again though, as they recently released another patch, patch 1.10.

Still in the slaughterhouse, but I think I might be able to finish the game by the end of this week. Maybe.

Nice, not too long after I posted that, the SDS developers released patch 1.11. Longer download time I guess.Ray502 wrote:Haven't played MLB The Show 18 in awhile, so I played in career mode for about an hour. Gotta update it again though, as they recently released another patch, patch 1.10.

I've said this already, but this was a great game. Thanks again for the recommendation.
I will be waiting with baited anticipation for the sequel.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Oh the Tings is no problem at all, I think I've found my next rank that I want to stay on for awhile before moving on to my next preferred rank. We've reversed roles a bit, now you're the one receiving them and I'm the one giving away.PluMGMK wrote:Good stuff! The Jonster wrote:I finished! I DID IT! YAY!!!

I will be waiting with baited anticipation for the sequel.(Though 2 is in fact a prequel. 3 will be a sequel, if it happens!) And thanks for the further shot of Tings.

And you're right, I forgot 2 was a prequel. I think a sequel will happen...sometime in the future
I'm adding Rayman 3, MMBN2, Mario Golf, and Mario Tennis to my lineup of rotating games.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
On this day, primarily Rayman 3, I would like to finish my playthrough of the game without glitches first then use them to improve my score further. I would like to see if theee are any more secrets for me to discover.

Playing Rayman 1 on PSX and got to the first level of Blue Mountains. I keep dying, fuck this game is hard.
