Never heard of this... has anyone here has read Shamo ? I'm reading 20th Century Boys atm, and my favorites mangas are... hm... One Piece, Rurouni Kenshin, Vagabond, Monster, FMA. I love Shamo too but it's quite special (I truly doubt you'd like it ahah). Oh, and the worst manga I've ever read must be Bleach.
Do you only read shojo mangas ?

About manga, the only manga I ever read was Fruits Basket, which is a Shoujo. (I have the first seven parts in my bookcase, going to collect the rest ) I prefer to watch anime though. (Except when male characters are voiced by women. Gah, I hate that.) I watch both Shounen and Shoujo anime (I try to watch as much as possible).
Anime I've seen so far:
Yu-Gi-Oh! (just the Japan-only one)
Inuyasha
Vampire Knight
Azumanga Daioh! (Still have to finish that one..)
ToraDora!
Full Metal Alchemist (My favourite, I'm going to watch Brotherhood when the full English Dub is up for download)
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Death Note
Spirited Away
Howl's Moving Castle
Princess Mononoke
Ponyo (Japanese without subtitles, didn't understand it )
Hetalia: Axis Powers
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind
One Piece and Love Hina are waiting to be watched.
Btw that Shamo one seems pretty depressive

Indeed ! It's really, really, really dark.
You should try some seinen too. Watch Monster, you won't regret it (oh btw that girl in my sig is a character from Monster), and Cowboy Bebop too !

but right now i need to finish the anime of HIgurashi no naku koro ni and higurashi no naku koro ni kai. heck i named my hoodlum murderer after that anime.

Has anyone noticed that Japanese titles never make any sense? Even the few that I'm used to hearing, like “Metal Gear Solid” and “Final Fantasy”. The titles seem rather... disjointed. And abstract.

Well it's probably because you haven't heard a lot of titles. Most of them make sense.

Naruto's better than Bleach though, but it's getting worse and worse... it's a shame, the second part could have been great.

Hey SLoL, could ya tell me bout Death note? I like vampire animes and I'd like to know more bout them.
p.s. Has anyone here watched the incarnation of awesomness on earth which is known by the name of Hellsing? (if you're under 9, don't like blood, don't like maniac vampires shooting all over the place and don't like zombies don't watch it.)

There isn't a single vampire in this anime.

Wikipedia wrote:The series centers on Light Yagami, a high school student who discovers a supernatural notebook, the "Death Note", dropped on Earth by a shinigami (death god) named Ryuk. The Death Note grants its user the ability to kill anyone whose face they have seen, by writing the victim's name in the notebook. The story follows Light's attempt to create and rule a world cleansed of evil using the notebook, and the complex conflict between him, his opponents and a mysterious detective known to the world only as L.
There's 12 volumes for the manga and about 50 episodes for the anime, it's truly great.

You should have been at MCM expo last year there were like 15 people both male and female dressed up as L alone.
Only real manga I've properly read was the second volume of a Tezuka one called Buddha, and I'd like to try and find the other volumes at some point. Read the first volume of Naruto as well, and I was surprised to find it OK unlike the anime.
