Some great stuff for the 20th anniversary (?)

Well, almost 3 months ago I asked Rayman twitter about Rayman's 20th anniversary, and they said:

"We've got some great stuff in the works for #Rayman's 20th... stay tuned!"
Maybe you've read this message before.

What do you think Ubisoft can bring us in Rayman's 20th anniversary? Also, I'm sorry if this has been posted before or something like that.

Regards :).

This year will mark the 20th, whether or not Ubi will actually make it worthwhile, or leave it in the depths as Ninty did Metroid's 25th, remains to be seen.

Yeah.. poor Samus..

I hope we get a new 3D Rayman game, as long as we get something new of Rayman and not a compilation of games, I'm satisfied.

Was the anniversary this year or the next year?
This year, the 1st September.

I'm willing to bet that a new game is in the works, as it has been almost two years since Legends, and it probably will be by the time the new game is (hopefully) released. I just hope it's a 3D game.

I doubt Ubi will stoop to quite that level, seeing as they've actually talked about doing something to celebrate. As always, I place my bets on a rerelease, specifically the time honoured R2 port.

Yes, because what we would all like is yet another Rayman 2 port, because it's not like it has already been released on N64, Windows, PSX, Dreamcast, PS2, PSP, twice on PS3, iOS, DS, 3DS and GBC. The last thing we need right now is yet another port. A remaster, on the other hand, would be amazing.

No more R2 ports please.

Though I'd love to see a Rayman 1 remake from the ground up.

Nonsense! Can never have enough R2 ports. Why, if that game is not poorly ported to every system imaginable it'll be a slap in the face to the entire Rayman community!

A remaster of either R1 or R2 would be pretty awesome - I lean towards R2 as the original visuals of R1 are still very appealing, while R2's could do with a bit of sparkle. I worry that with R1 they'd just fall back on the UbiArt art direction rather than going somewhere new.

If they're going to port R2 again, I'd at least like to see Revolution get ported, for once. I'd buy that in a heartbeat.
A remastered R1 or R2 would also be pretty swell. I don't expect anything bigger than any of those 3 suggestions, though.

I agree, it's clearly the best version of the game. The likelyhood of a port is extemely low, as the RenderWare engine used by Revolution has been discontinued. If Revolution is released at all, a new engine will have to be created.

Still, it'd make a change if they actually put in the effort, their ports leave a lot to be desired.

Really? Guess that explains why it's never been re-released... That's pretty disappointing. :(

Revolution in 60 frames per second? Yes please!
