Fairies

I've been having a look at some of the articles about all the Fairy characters [Ly, Betilla,Tily etc] and apparently someone said that Ly and Betilla are totally different species, while not listing Betilla as a fairy. If that's so, then should Tily be listed as a fairy as well because she looks more like a canine than a fairy? And if the Ludivs aren't fairies according to this person, then what the hell are they? That doesn't make sense to me... :?

well, betilla is a fairy, which is obvious because they say "betilla the fairy". the ludivs are fairies as said in the ps1 manuel for r2: "...these near sighted fairies..." or something along those lines.

I don't think Betilla and Ly are the same species (considering you can define species in Rayman's world), but they're both fairies, no doubt. And I think we can say the same thing for Tily and the Ludivs.

I could agree with that. Different species of fairies is all. (And Tily I'd say is a fairy as well. She ain't full grown like Ly, though she's still a fairy.)

You know I have a feeling that Ly was originally going to be an anthro cat. In one of the concept drawings of her, she has what I think look more like cat ears than elven.

That thought has struck me too.

I still like Ly though. 83 ...if I could only find out why am I making her suffer all the time, if I like her so much. X3

I think we could say that fairies are one complete race, there's just great diversity amongst them. Who knows, maybe Polokus thought they should all be different, probably depending on their personalities too. Ly has a tail, and though powerful and everything, she still has a feral habit of running on all fours. XD

If you watch carefully while playing the Walk of Life and the Walk of Power you might see her do it, but for only like a second. Here's an old video I recorded from the Walk of power which shows.

Yeah, same here. From what did you record the game with?

You should put that video on Ly's wiki page.

I hooked up my PS2 to a VCR to record it onto VHS, and then I used Pinnacle Studio 9 and some hardware called Dazzle to rip it. To record quality videos like that again I'd need a bigger TV, this little TV/VCR combo I've got doesn't do the job so good [neither does it play VHSs so well...stupid Samsungs]. :(

I have more game footage including Rayman M, and I'm thinking about putting them up on Youtube. I also think the links top them would be better off in the Walks of Life and Power articles I made earlier.

Are you sure it's not just animation errors?

Running on all fours just gives her more charm. In my opinion.
