Hi!
This might be a stupid question because I'm not familiar with game soundtrack ripping and I'm new here.
I love The Great Escape soundtrack and I was wondering if it's possible to get the soundtrack in higher quality like FLAC or WAV?
Is it possible to rip the music from my Great Escape PC Game in FLAC/WAV?

It's definitely possible, but you'd have to ask Drolpiraat how to access the music, then save it in WAV or FLAC rather than MP3 (which is what he did...).

Thanks to the wonderful Synthesis, you can now simply rip the all of the music with his tool Ray2Get.
Using this tool, you can easily convert all the *.apm files ( which contain the music ) from the PC version to *.wav files. ^^

Ok. I downloaded the Ray2Get program and it works. I converter the apm. files but now the problem is that I have over 1000 small WAV files here.. So how can I join the small files together that I get those same songs which I already have in mp3 ?

That is, well, kinda hard.
You'll have to use a program like WAV Joiner.

I am doing a complete lossless rip of this so hang around for that.

This is my first lossless rip (FLAC - 650MB) spanning 69 tracks at its original 22050Hz. This rip was taken from the PC version of Rayman 2. Most of these songs loop 2x but some loop 4x due to their short length.

I even made some album art because I felt it needed some. Click on the thumbnail for full resolution.



Each part is 200MB for the FLAC and around 100MB for the MP3.

Also, when doing this rip, I noticed the name of a particular track "The Flying Barrel" is actually a gunpowder keg.

Also, a few of the tracks you have on the site (especially the extras) aren't in this rip. The extra tracks that are in it are Intro without the voices, Ambience of the Bayou, A Journey of Two Buddies and Pyralums 2 are the ones included.

Wait, are you saying that these track names are actually on the disc?

Well not really. Anyone who's ripped the audio like I have will see two letters and maybe a couple of numbers for each song.

For example; the first song has the initials "AS" and this song is known in my rip as "The Celestial Slide". I'm assuming the "S' means slide but not sure what word the "A" could represent. I just chose the word "Celestial" because that's where this slide is, among the stars.

I just named most of them after the levels they were used in and borrowed the names from the previous rip or added my own.

Also some good news, the FLAC rip is now up for download. Sorry about the long wait for it. Uploads kept freezing but I finally managed to get it all there.

Well, astronomique would be the French word for 'celestial', so that may explain something.

Wow, thanks for these songs. I really really love Rayman2 and I think most of that has to be because of its amazing soundtracks. It's great to have them now. Thanks again.

It's missing the part 3 and part 4 on the MP3 section... But really nice work.

The mp3 version is smaller than the FLAC version so there are no parts missing.

I'm now doing a multi-platform rip across the board in lossless for Rayman 2.

The platforms being PS2, Dreamcast, GBC and N64.
