Hi everyone!

One year after the launch of our speedrunning section, which came with the first edition of our speedrunning contest, we have decided to go for it again! Therefore, allow me to introduce SpeedRay 2022.

SpeedRay 2021 was, in several aspects, a success. We had fun organizing, runners had fun competing, and many items of rare Rayman merchandize were won in the process. It did not see, however, as many entries as some of us hoped, something we attributed to the fact that with one category per game where only the first prize was actual merch, it favored specialized skills and discouraged many runners from competing with the top dogs and giving it a try.
This is why, for SpeedRay 2022, there will be only one category, where everyone will play the three main games, and no major glitches will be allowed. How will this work?
The corresponding speedrun.com categories will be Any% PS1 - USA for Rayman 1, PC - Any% Glitchless for Rayman 2 and GCN - Any% No Major Glitches or GCN Emu - Any% No Major Glitches for Rayman 3. Runs do not have to be completed back to back but can be done separately.
We will not simply add up your times, because some games are longer than others and we don't want specialized runners to be given a head start, so once the contest closes we will first normalize your times by dividing them by the current record for the game, and then add them up together. The lowest score, that is, the closest to the existing records, will obviously win.
As of now the current records in our categories are 1h 16m 11s for Rayman 1, 1h 44m 32s (without loads) for Rayman 2 and 1h 56m 21s for Rayman 3.

How to participate
All you have to do is speedrun the games listed above and post your runs in this topic. They will have to be validated either by the moderators at speedrun.com or a member of our speedrunning team, but not by yourself.
Note that you may not submit older runs. The contest will run from February 1st to February 28th, and all runs must be recorded and submitted during this period. Submissions are not final, and you're more than welcome to keep posting better runs: we will only consider your best time.
Any questions?
Just post them here! And may the fastest win.
