If money wasn't an issue, what would you do?

If I had billions of dollars..
- I would fly gliders around the world
- I would show others what I love
- Make a Razoff dedicated game similar to Rayman Origins...
- Write fantasy
- make trance music for free
- photograph all kinds of stuff
- Play R3 & The Sims all day

- teach others how to fly (this is my choice of charity)
- fly some more!

You need billions of dollars to write fantasy? Are you saving up for a really superb typewriter or something?

I've heard about jobless people that wrote books, so I think you don't need to swim in a pool of coins to write a series.

Out of yours, the following can be done for free:
- I would show others what I love
- Make a Razoff dedicated game similar to Rayman Origins...
- Write fantasy
- make trance music for free
(lolwut, "for free" implies you wouldn't need money)
- Play R3 & The Sims all day
I'm not sure why those require money. Out of all the music software I have, the only legit one is Logic Pro, but I could have just as easily pirated it. Game designing tools? All pirated. The rest I listed don't even connect to money. I'll probably buy them all at some point in the future though.
If I had a billion dollars, I would do the following:
- Build a complete, fully customized music studio.
- Buy a $200,000 pearl grand piano.
- Put it towards our indie company soon to be founded.
- Use some surplus to pay animators for a controversial film concept I've had planned for a long time.
- Other independent company funding stuff.
- Receive a treatment that can halt or even reverse the aging process permanently (which I hope to live long enough to see through).
- Give all those damned orphans a good home.

Is it a cartoon remake of
The Crying Game?

Personal wealth is practically irrelevant to the concept of a rejuvenation treatment: the real obstacle is the time and money required by the research itself. Only the rich will be able to afford it in the first few years after it hits the market, but like personal computers and mobile phones, it’s only a matter of time until the treatment and its underlying technology grow so efficient and cost-effective as to become a realistic prospect for normal citizens. The demand for it would be off the charts, and there’s no way the manufacturers would shut out billions of guaranteed customers.

i would buy EA and i would help all the fan projects of games, getting able to somehow get the companys that ea bought back to life and let them with their copyrights and let teh copyrights not be a problem to fan projects.
i also woud buy Epic games so i can finally make jazz jackrabbit 3,unreal 3 and unreal tournament 4
and i also would buy ubisoft so people can get the classic rainbow logo, make pod 3,help in fan projects like rayman ROTD,and i would try to make another rayman game that is kinda similar to rayman 2 or 1,diferent from goofiness and just running and punching, but with a little more dark and some what macabre design in the last levels
and i would like too to learn how to draw and play guitar

I would invest into some music stuff. Definitely some good program to mix/produce it, plus some good instruments. A grand piano would be delightful, a really awesome accoustic guitar which would really be a pleasure to play, probably a good trumpet for my silly friend so we could make music together, and maybe a bass guitar. Also, I really would prefer to have a B.C. Rich Warlock with the old ''hockey-head'' instead of that horned crap. It looks terrible.
Alternatively, a Gibson Les Paul, but idk.

Anyway, the first thing I would do would be to put every cent in a high interest bank account and live off the interest (app. 35 million dollars a year, calculated at 3.5% interest).

That would suggest money
is, to an extent, still an issue in your life

Or that there is a possibility it will become one, and he is preparing for all potential outcomes.

If that possibility existed, there would still be some considerable value in preserving your finances.

No, so I can write without any ego... Ego can really kill my creativity you know...

Aha, no, but I see where you got that from. What it does include is a teenager strangling a child to death and enduring the events that follow through his life (prison, protests, ridicule, etc). It takes place slightly in the future where the death penalty has been abolished, but one of the main plot elements are the pensions people are trying to sign to bring it back to have vengeance on people who do this kind of thing. Who the protagonist/antagonist is is almost purely dependent on your views. If you side with the harsh capital punishment, then the teen will probably be the antagonist; if you side with the chance to redeem oneself, then the teen will most definitely be the protagonist.

That's a good note. If that is the case, then I hope it doesn't cause religious rioting. Nonetheless, I see it as a possibility that this will play out within our generation.

So... writing when you are poor somehow grants you a huge ego, whereas writing when you have lots of money somehow dismisses it?

I do not think the word ‘pension’ means what you think it means.

It sounds like an exceedingly biased film which makes a few concessions for the other side in an attempt to provoke discussion. Would I be correct in predicting that the film ends with the teenager’s redemption, or a scene hinting directly at one? (By the way, your character is a simple antihero; an antagonist cannot be the main character under any circumstances. Protagonist/antagonist is not a moral dichotomy but a narrative one.)

The demand for this treatment will be too great for any social or political force to stop it. Most of those who stand in its way will lose their resolve when they come to understand the reality of life extension and see their friends and families (not to mention enemies) taking advantage of it. Within a few decades, the minority who remain resolute in their opposition will be taken care of by their own biology.

Fuck, k, replace that with "thing."

Why do I never look up what I say?

Nope, it doesn't give radical bias towards the teenager, and it doesn't end with any kind of redemption, because he kills himself near the end. He's trying to get a point across by doing this, but it isn't thought out and it isn't rational. If you take a look at many YouTube comments on this sort of thing, 90% of them are actually siding in favour of the penalty, even against a teenager (I'm basing this concept loosely off of the news story in that video). It does lean very slightly towards the teen however, about 55:45, but that's small enough so that it's less of a conscious thing (I don't see why it can't have a drop of my own opinion in there; you yourself said that persuasion is the only way to lead people in the right direction). It's a little hard to describe though, since I don't want to get into too much detail.

Don't things just fall into place so beautifully?
