Christophe Héral

Christophe Héral (born November 24, 1960) is the main composer of Rayman Origins, Rayman Legends, Rayman Mini, Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition, and the Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope DLC Rayman in the Phantom Show, along with Grant Kirkhope.

He has also composed music for other Ubisoft video games such as Beyond Good & Evil, The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn and Beyond Good and Evil 2.

Biography

Christophe Héral was born in Montpellier and developed a passion for music during his teenage years, initially learning to play the guitar. At the age of 17, he began taking composition lessons. In 1985, he ventured into creating soundtracks for animated short films, gradually delving into this genre even more, working on projects for both television and cinema.

In 1999, Hubert Chevillard recommended him to Michel Ancel, who was in search of a composer for his upcoming video game, Beyond Good & Evil. This marked the beginning of their collaboration, and he continued to work alongside Michel Ancel, contributing music for games like Rayman Origins, Rayman Legends and The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, and also participated in projects like Beyond Good and Evil 2 and Wild.

Besides his work in the gaming industry, he also collaborated with Jean-François Laguionie and composed music for two of his feature films: The Island of Black Mor and more recently, The Voyage du Prince, a film co-directed with Xavier Picard.
