Talk:List of Robo-Pirates in Rayman 2

Should we include Robo-Pirates from Rayman 3? --iHeckler9 12:25, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

I don't know, this list is essencially about the R2 pirates. --Haruka 12:38, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
Definitely not. It's just a cameo and there aren't even robo-pirates, just statues of them. — 22:56, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
I should have made myself more clear. I meant the ones from the GBA version. We can do a trivia section about the ones in the console version. --iHeckler9 07:09, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
This article is really about documenting Rayman 2's Robo-Pirate system (how the various combinations of resistance, colour, attacks and behaviours occur). Perhaps the page should be located at 'List of Robo-Pirates in Rayman 2'. The ones in R3 GBA fall well outside this area and thus are not within the scope of this article. —Spiraldoor 15:47, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
Then I propose a new page. --iHeckler9 17:57, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
I suggest the same. --Haruka 20:02, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
Approved. — 21:59, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

Ninja Pirate in Echoing Caves

I thought his attack was mainly normal energy projectiles. -- Haruka  23:24, 4 April 2011 (UTC)

It is; thank you for noticing this error. I do need sleep. —    11:02, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
By the way, Razorbeard (Or better, the Grolgoth?) will be the only one to add in the Crow's Nest. How will be calculated the resistance? -- Haruka  19:44, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
The Grolgoth's health bar is 381 pixels wide in the N64 version. I may be mistaken, but I believe the rule that 16 pixels = 1 HP holds true for all enemies in the original version of Rayman 2. This would place the Grolgoth at approximately 24 HP. You'll have to check with Hunch though – I might be screwing this up completely. —Spiraldoor   21:10, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
I also fear messing up the resistance calculations because it is the first time I see people interested and putting effort in creating a resistance list about enemies in Rayman games, and I'm not fully aware of the damage calculation rules and principles. -- Haruka  21:15, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
I can confirm the resistance of the Grolgoth in the original version and I've just added it to the article. —    16:58, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
In the PlayStation version, the length of the Grolgoth's lifebar is 400px, and each helicopter bomb takes 20px from it. While 20px is the standard length corresponding to 1 hit point for most Robo-Pirates in this version, it is not the case for Barrel Pirates, where it is 8px instead: therefore, we still have to figure out how many hit points 20px correspond to. In the original and Dreamcast versions, each helicopter bomb takes two hit points from the Grolgoth's life (32px), and if we consider them equally powerful in each version, that would lead us to a resistance of 40 HP in the PlayStation version. It's the only way to be coherent, and the value isn't really shocking (after all, Barrel Pirates too are more resistant in this version). Any objections and/or comments on choosing this value? —    17:33, 11 April 2011 (UTC)

HUBs

Should we have ones for the East Plain, Minisaurus Plain, Globox's House and Rainbow Creek as well? --iHeckler9  15:31, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Well thought, I think Hunch forgot about these. Those Robo-Pirates cannot be forgotten. -- Haruka  22:47, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
It's going to be tricky cataloguing the infinite Robo-Pirates in the East Plain and the enormous army of them at the entrance to Rainbow Creek. —Spiraldoor   11:55, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
You know what they say: 'It's dirty work, but somebody's gotta do it.' --iHeckler9  12:46, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
I never forgot about these, read my last comments in the page history. I simply haven't had time to do it yet, and I will probably need help. It is, however, perfectly doable in my opinion: I've already dealt with infinitely-spawning pirates (the Canopy in Revolution) and the rest is just a matter of counting. —    13:16, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
Sorry about the massive bump, but I'll do the ones in the East Plain and Rainbow Creek for you, Hunch. Just forgive me if I get the table thing mucked up, I'm useless with them. --iHeckler9  19:09, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
Brilliant idea Heckler! If you're afraid to screw up the table, you may want to post your list here and I'll take care of the layout. ;) —    08:11, 28 October 2011 (UTC)
I forgot to put it here. Check the talk page for the East Plain ones. --iHeckler9  15:38, 12 August 2014 (CEST)
Hey, that's a neat idea over there! ;) -- Haruka  14:46, 13 August 2014 (CEST)
What are we going to do about the ones in the East Plain? Did we decide on something already? On my talk page I mentioned a problem with the pirates that spawned there. --iHeckler9  17:33, 1 September 2015 (CEST)
I'm assuming you're referring to the ones which attempt to capture the Baby Globoxes, near Ly's House, right? I'm guessing they're randomised, but there only seems to be the two specific types. Perhaps it'd be wise to use an asterisk or like icon and note that the numbers aren't consistent, only the total they come to. --  23:24, 2 September 2015 (CEST)

Hoodlums

This probably won't work, but should we make a new page for the Hoodlums? --iHeckler9  06:47, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Why not, doesn't sounds like a bad idea. —    09:03, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
It is a good suggestion. The Hoodlums have got different resistances. There are specific types that appear in specific levels too. -- Haruka  10:43, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
No, such a list is absolutely pointless from a resistance point of view, since all the Hoodlums of the same type, unlike Henchmen 800, have the same resistance. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't mean we shouldn't add their resistance to the list, but it's not gonna bring anything new. —    11:58, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
I see. Well, indeed you are right. -- Haruka  21:33, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
