Unused files

Hi there and thanks for all the great contributions! I recently sent you a PM as I had questions about what to do with some unused files, but I don't think you've noticed it yet, so I thought I'd let you know here. Cheers! — 20:23, 23 September 2023 (CEST)

Compression

Hi there! Just a heads up that I have reuploaded your screenshots of Rayman's training with adequate compression and resolution, and reduced the overall file size by a factor of 75. Such videos are inherently compressed and using a lossless format such as PNG and resolutions significantly higher than the original result in much greater file sizes and therefore loading times for viewers. I have also removed black bars as per our image quality guidelines. — 00:20, 21 July 2024 (CEST)

Discord

Hey! I was wondering if you have a discord account and if you are in the Rayman Pirate Community server! --RayWizard (talk) 16:56, 30 May 2026 (UTC)

I don't really use Discord, so unfortunately the answer to both questions is currently no. I'm still very active around the main forum though! --RayGamer99 (talk) 21:18, 30 May 2026 (UTC)

Screenshots from videos

Hello! Just a friendly reminder that, as per our image policy, screenshots from YouTube videos should not be uploaded in lossless formats (such as PNG). This is because such videos are inherently noisy, meaning they contain a lot of visual grain, compression artifacts, and tiny pixel variations.

Because PNG is a "lossless" format, it tries to perfectly preserve every single one of these microscopic, noisy details. Since the noise is so random, the PNG format cannot compress it effectively, resulting in massive file sizes that take up unnecessary server space and slow down page loading times for our readers.

Formats such as JPG or lossy WebP are perfect for such use cases, even with relatively high quality factors. Thanks! — 14:21, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
