'''Dark Rayman''' is a character who was intended to appear in [[Phoenix Studio]]'s cancelled ''[[Rayman 4 (2005 cancelled prototype)|Rayman 4]]'' project. It is unknown if it was intended to be one of the prior characters, or indeed, another distinct dark clone.

One piece of concept art produced for the game shows [[Rayman]] standing in an enormous cathedral-like building, which is decorated with statues and stained-glass windows in the likeness of Dark Rayman. These depictions show him holding swords, carrying spears, wearing suits of armour and breathing fire. Here he appears to be mainly black in colour, and his eyes are red rather than yellow. Engravings on the walls mention the name 'Dark Rayman'.

Another concept art found in 2015 shows a giant-sized Dark Rayman pursuing [[Rayman]]. He wears he same armour as the statues and the windows in his lair. He also has long hair instead of the same hairstyle as [[Rayman]]. A colored version of that artwork was later found, giving him red hair, orange eyes, and an X on his chest similar to [[Dark Rayman (Rayman Arena)|Dark Rayman]] from the GameCube and Xbox versions of ''[[Rayman Arena]]''.

The two concept arts seem to imply that Dark Rayman would have been an enemy in the game – possibly a boss, or even the main villain.
