The Desert Kingdom is a world that appears in Rayman Adventures. It reuses level structure from the Land of the Livid Dead as well as the music, but with new assets. The world was originally going to be accessible at any time from the world map; however, it was scrapped after the textures were created. It later made its only appearance in the limited-time Desert Marathon event.
== Description == | |||
The Desert Kingdom is a world within the Glade of Dreams inspired by ancient Egypt. Along with vast expanses of sand, stone structures and temples appear in the background of the area. Stone platforms, breakable piles of pottery, and bouncy objects and pillars that both resemble sarcophagi make up the unique aspects of the foreground. Devilbobs appear as enemies in this world, but with fake blue beards and blue scarab wings.
Sandbox is both a record keeper and defender of the kingdom, having once saved it from a band of Lividstones with the help of the Death Fairy. Raysiris is said to be the best runner in the Desert Kingdom, even while wearing sandals. One point of interest in this world is the Great Purramids, a pun on the Great Pyramid of Giza; it is said that no one knows their secrets better than the Sphynxies, a family of Incrediballs. The Anubii, another family of Incrediballs based on the Egyptian god of the dead Anubi, are revered and worshipped by many of the area's inhabitants, perhaps out of fear of their thirst for destruction.

== Trivia == | |||
*Due to its scrapped icon on the world map, the Desert Kingdom may have originally been intended to be a Fiesta de los Muertos level.
**However, on another image of the world map, the icon which seems to represent the Desert Kingdom is a wooden tower from Quick Sand, suggesting that this level may have been another early concept for it.
