'''Globox''' is a major character in the [[Rayman (series)|''Rayman'' series]], second only to [[Rayman]] himself in his prominence. Globox acts as a major ally in ''[[Rayman 2]]'' and ''[[Rayman 3]]'', and is a playable character in ''[[Rayman M]]'', ''[[Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge]]'', ''[[Rayman Origins]]'', ''[[Rayman Legends]]'', ''[[Rayman Adventures]]'', ''[[Rayman Mini]]'', and ''[[Rayman: The Board Game]]''. He is [[Rayman]]'s best friend and has been since before the events of ''[[Rayman 2]]''.

Globox used to be red, but one day while he was eating berries, he mistook a blue [[mosquito]] for a berry, and ate it. From inside Globox's belly, the [[mosquito]] called for help, and hundreds of other blue [[mosquito]]es came to sting Globox. When they left him, Globox's red skin was covered in painful blue welts. These eventually seeped into his skin, turning it blue.

Physically, Globox is quite strong, and provided that he has the confidence too (under the influence of [[plum juice]] in ''[[Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge]]''), he can inflict a strong blow on enemies, namely [[Hoodlum]]s. Unfortunately, he is allergic to [[plum juice]]; when [[André]] was inside his stomach, he would force Globox to drink some, then it would have various effects on Globox, such as getting drunk, and burping out giant bouncy bubbles. While under the influence of [[plum juice]] in [[Clearleaf Forest]], Globox realises that he can [[Swimming|swim]], and even manages to swim up an entire waterfall while avoiding [[Piranha#In Rayman 3 and its spin-offs|piranhas]]. [[Plum juice]] can also give him an ability to fly, or float, into the air, allowing him to avoid such terrains in ''[[Rayman 3]]'' that would prove difficult. This was most likely to have been inspired by this hovering technique in ''[[Rayman M]]'', it also may be the inspiration for characters getting [[Bubble|bubblized]] in ''[[Rayman Origins]]''. In the UbiArt games, and all versions of ''[[Rayman M]]'', it is suggested that Globox can run as fast as the others, despite his weight, but elsewhere he tends to walk slowly in a nervous state. In ''[[Rayman Origins]]'' and ''[[Rayman Legends]]'', Globox can use the ability to glide without inflating and just by flapping his arms in the air.

In ''[[Rayman 3]]'', Globox remains physically similar to his original appearance, though had become a comedic sidekick for this next appearance. Globox plays a major plot role, having accidentally swallowed [[André]] and having to find a [[Teensie Doctor|doctor]] who would find a way to remove [[André]] from Globox during the first half of the game. During this time, Globox is forced by [[André]] to drink [[plum juice]], despite his allergies, and during a somewhat drunken state he gains special abilities for short periods of time that are needed to progress [[Rayman]] through the game or move Globox forward through the level (by floating). Through the second half he plays a lesser role, though tends to follow [[Rayman]] on their journey, occasionally bringing up the odd surprise. He is notably voice acted by actor John Leguizamo.

Within the game's story, [[Globox]] goes missing when he begins to have bad dreams about swallowing [[André]]. He is captured first by the [[Hoodlum]]s, managing to save himself, and then by [[Bégoniax]], from whom he is rescued by [[Rayman]].

[[Rayman]] and Globox then go on a mission to stop the [[Hoodlum]]s creating a cloned [[Reflux]], however it is eventually revealed that [[André]] has taken over the body of Globox, having left part of his spirit inside when he was previously swallowed. [[André]] takes off in [[Globox]]'s body, causing [[Rayman]] to pursue him. [[Rayman]] eventually defeats the cloned [[Reflux]], freeing Globox from [[André]]'s control in the process, and the two heroes go home, with [[Rayman]] commenting that they "make a pretty good team".

Globox next appears in ''[[Rayman Origins]]''. The trailer shows [[Rayman]]'s first meeting with Globox, prior to the events of [[Rayman 1|the original ''Rayman'' game]]. It is said that Globox is [[Rayman]]'s ‘double, his blood brother, his id’. ''[[Rayman Origins|Origins]]'' reveals that Globox is one of a group of beings known as the [[Red Wizard]]s; like the other wizards, Globox was originally red, but he turned blue after being attacked by blue [[mosquito]]es involving a berry picking incident. [[Red Globox]] is also an unlockable character in [[Rayman Origins|Origins]]. Globox can [[Helicopter|glide]] by flapping his arms, unlike in earlier games when he had to inflate in order to 'float'. ''[[Rayman Origins|Origins]]'' is also the first game where Globox has the ability to fight enemies. For some odd reason, the [[Polokus|Bubble Dreamer]] claims that Globox is, or has, the "biggest glute in the [[Glade of Dreams|Glade]]" when that name was used in reference to [[bird]]-like [[Glute|creatures]] that only physically appeared in the [[Rayman 3 (early production)|beta]] of ''[[Rayman 3]]''. This has led to the common misconception that the [[glute]]s and [[Globox's species]] are one and the same. This misconception has even made its way into the book ''[[L'Histoire de Rayman]]'', which refers to both Globox and the [[Polokus|Bubble Dreamer]] as glutes.<ref>''[[L'Histoire de Rayman]]'', Chapter 10 - Rayman's World</ref> In reality, however, it is more likely that the [[Polokus|Bubble Dreamer]] is literally referring to Globox’s glutes, which are a group of muscles that make up the buttocks (meaning that he would essentially be claiming that Globox has the biggest butt in the [[Glade of Dreams|Glade]]).

Globox is set to appear as a playable character in ''[[Rayman: The Board Game]]''. His appearance is based on that of the [[UbiArt]] games, albeit without eyebrows. His early figure had eyebrows, a slightly different design, and a different pose. An alternate, Kickstarter-exclusive figure of Globox sliding on his back was also revealed as the third [[lucky ticket]] and will be included with all pledges that have a copy of the base game.

In the fighting game ''[[Brawlhalla]]'', the Rayman Update patch added numerous skins, items, and effects to the game. One of these skins was Globox for the character Cassidy. He is considered an "Epic Crossover Skin," just like [[Barbara]]. Globox comes with signature FX swaps, Legend Name and icon swaps, custom Lock-In animation, and two weapon skins which include two [[mosquito]]es which Globox uses as guns as well as [[Selena]]'s sword which is called the Selena Smasher here. Globox can be purchased for 300 Mammoth Coins.
