::I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion. A screenshot from an emulator can look exactly like a screenshot from a console – or much better, depending on your system and settings. ::I use a Dazzle DVC100 Capture Card, with the Sharpness up at full blast, the quality is excellent with it: a lot better than an emulator imo. Also, unless you actually own the game your emulating, it would be illegal to use an emulator. Shukaku 15:22, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
:::I don't think it's actually possible for a capture card to improve the quality of a screenshot. Most of the images we capture with emulators are a perfect representation of the game (see all OK-rated Rayman 1 screenshots), and in some cases are even clearer and crisper (see some emulated Rayman 2 screenshots). Perhaps you should post some images taken with your capture card so that we can compare them with emulated screenshots first-hand. As for the legality of emulation, nothing could be more irrelevant; it's an invaluable tool for us and there's nothing to stop us from using it. —Spiraldoor 15:36, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

Updating the image

If possible, I will try to get a better quality version of this image using my capture card to record gameplay and take a still image of the scene. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shukaku (talkcontribs) 18:41, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

I don't think that's necessary, as we now have people who can take screenshots in PCSX2 (don't we?). Also, you are advised to sign each edit to a talk page with four tildes (these things → ~). —Spiraldoor 18:47, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
A high definition snapshot from an emulator would be welcome indeed. — 19:24, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
I'll spend 5 minutes tomorrow to take a screenshot. --Haruka 21:34, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
Yes, I know about that Spiraldoor, I completely forgot to do it. I'm also curious as to why it is not necessary: the original image from the actual game CD is better than an image from an emulated version imo. Shukaku 11:58, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
What device do you use to get snapshots from the actual game? — 13:26, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion. A screenshot from an emulator can look exactly like a screenshot from a console – or much better, depending on your system and settings. For example, I have no problem with Rayman 2 screenshots which are at a higher resolution than the original release, or make use of anti-aliasing or similar graphical improvements. —Spiraldoor 15:04, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
Not to mention that the device used to capture snapshots is very likely to lower the quality of the original image (hence my question above). — 15:15, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
I use a Dazzle DVC100 Capture Card, with the Sharpness up at full blast, the quality is excellent with it: a lot better than an emulator imo. Also, unless you actually own the game your emulating, it would be illegal to use an emulator. Shukaku 15:22, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
I don't think it's actually possible for a capture card to improve the quality of a screenshot.
Have you used a Capture Card before? I doubt it, but I'll get some screenshots for you anyway to see (won't be possible yet, when I come around to do Rayman Revolution/Rayman 2 PC as an LP on my channel, I'll get a screenshot). And yes, there's nothing to stop you using an emulator, but there is the legal ramifications that I'm not going to discuss here because it's not even relevant to this page.
As a side note, every time I try to help out, I just get yelled at. What's the point of me trying to help out here if people are just going to tell me off? Shukaku 16:30, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

We're not having a go at you at offering to help, but in this case we're just discouraging using capture cards (tbh I don't think dazzles are all that much cop x: ) unless it's a last resort, and as RR is now fully playable in the emulator in question, it's not the last resort here. If this was on PS3 or XBox 360 it'd be a different story. --Cairnie 16:39, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
