One thing I noticed while browsing the wiki over the last few days is that informaton on the Jaguar version of the game is lacking on a lot of pages. Some of the later Rayman ports such as Rayman DSI and Rayman Advance have their own articles, despite having less differences in than the Jaguar version of the game, which is effectively a prototype of the other ports. I propose a seperate article is made for the Jaguar version that is linked to here, that fully documents the differences in each world compared to the other ports, and adds some details on it's development. : I was considering doing the same for the PlayStation version on Rayman 2, though eventually thought it would be best to leave the differences for the more specific articles, like the level ones. However, that makes finding this information harder since it's more fragmentet (and there's no place to write general info, such as music, visual and animation changes). I did write a section at the bottom of the article about some general differences between ports, though there was no way I could easily cover them all there without making this article too long. The Jaguar version is indeed the most unique one with a ton of differences. I think the only reason it doesn't currently have its own article is due to it being one of the first versions of the game (and it not having a different name, which oddly enough is usually a big reason for new articles), therefor considered by many to be the "original" version (which is of course the version which should be the general one for the main Rayman 1 article). However, the PlayStation and PC versions have since become the most common ones, and were also released during the same time period. So generally speaking I think the PlayStation and PC (as well as Saturn I guess) versions are the original versions of "Rayman 1". As a conclusion, I'm personally fine with having a separate article for it unless anyone else has any objections. Also, I think it's best not the refer to it as a "port" in that case since it's not really a port of any previous version. ::This is a bit complicated given how the Jaguar version is a distinct version of Rayman 1, rather than a port or remake. While it's true that most probably consider the PS1/Saturn or the PC version to be the most definitive, I think we should try to avoid having a position on the matter. A compromise we could try would be using a sub-page (the link being a suggestion of a name for such a sub-page) to document the differences in the Jaguar version. It allows us to maintain one whole article to encompass the three versions of Rayman 1, while retaining neutrality in regards to the subject of a definitive version. --[[File:Sig5 2TEST.png|150px|link=User:Master]] 00:03, 6 September 2017 (UTC)

:::How so? Rayman Arena and Rush both have separate articles and they're not ports. All different enough versions of Raving Rabbids (GBA, DS and Java) have their own articles. I think separate articles for game versions should be made when there are enough differences from the main version. As for making a sub-page I'm not sure how well that would work. It wouldn't follow any previous style we've used on the wiki and it'd be rather hard to find through for example a search. Having a "Rayman 1 (Atari Jaguar)" article seems more obvious and easier finding and it's similar to how these occurrences have been dealt with in the past. As for a "definitive version" I don't feel that this is what it's about. It's rather which version should be considered the main one, the original so to say. You could of course argue that the Jaguar version is the original in which case it makes sense to have it here with the other versions. But at the same time the PS1/Saturn and PC versions are the ones which Ubisoft have continuously mentioned as the originals, the ones they've ported and re-released and used for screenshots, live streams etc. Although the Jaguar version may have been released during the same year, it still feels like a different version, the Jaguar adaptation so to say. Most changes in this version were made to accommodate the lower use of storage on a cartridge and the limitations of the system compared to other disc based consoles and systems.

::::I do agree that given the amount of differences in the Jaguar version, having an article dedicated to it would be more effective.
