Rayman's appearance with the power of the Vortex

The Vortex, also known as the Vortex Fist, is a power first used by Rayman in Rayman 3, and later in Rayman in the Phantom Show, the third DLC of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope.

In Rayman 3

Rayman’s fists turn into a whirlwind. You can make anything spin (driving it to distraction): a mushroom, a Hoodlum, or any other object or animal.
—Manual (UK version), Rayman 3
The Vortex is a whirling burst of energy, able to spin enemies silly with its patented twisting action. Rayman can also launch the Vortex to twist towering mushroom platforms down to size for easy climbing.
—Manual (US version), Rayman 3

In Rayman 3, the power is provided by the green cans of Laser-Washing Powder. When Rayman acquires this power, the symbol of his chest turns yellow, his hair, torso, shoes and a great part of his gloves turn green, and the base of his shoes, hood and fingers turn red. With this power, Rayman wears a pair of special gloves with red and yellow spiral symbols that allow him to throw small tornadoes that can shrink his opponents and lower the meadowscrews to access to high places. Using the power of the Vortex is one of the two ways to make Stumblebooms fall off their stilts, the second one being to get other Hoodbooms to destroy the stilts with plum juice jugs. By walking over a shrunken enemy, Rayman can defeat them instantly.

The Vortex is the first Laser-Washing Powder can that Rayman finds in the game when he beats André in his Hoodmonger costume in the Fairy Council. Its effect lasts 25 seconds, and it is the second most lasting power in the game, the Lockjaw being the first one.

In Rayman in the Phantom Show

Rayman's Vortex costume can forcefully repel enemies with its Vortex Blaster and Vortex Guards or bring them closer using its Vortex power.
—In-game description, Rayman in the Phantom Show

The Vortex returns in Rayman in the Phantom Show, the third DLC of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. When equipped, Rayman passively takes 30% less damage, as well as upgrading his Blaster and Plunger Guard, now called Vortex Blaster and Vortex Guard, to bounce enemies away when fired. Rayman also gains a new ability, the Vortex Pull, which pulls enemies within range towards him, dealing minor damage to them. It can also be upgraded to apply the Splash super effect when used. The costume lasts 1 turn when activated, and has a 3-turn cooldown.

In this game, the Vortex costume resembles the earlier design shown in Rayman 3 concept art.
