Telescopic fist: Difference between revisions

In ''[[Rayman 2]]'', [[Rayman]] shoots [[Magic fist|energy balls]] instead of throwing his fist when attacking. However, at the beginning of ''[[Rayman Revolution]]'', he is temporarily given the ability to punch by [[Globox]]. This power only lasts until he frees the [[Grand Minimus]] in [[the Woods of Light]], where he is given the [[Magic fist|shooting]] power as in the other versions of ''[[Rayman 2]]''.

In ''[[Rayman 2 Forever]]'', the Game Boy Color adapation of ''[[Rayman 2]]'', [[Rayman]] uses his telescopic fist in the same manner as the original game.

In [[Rayman 3 (Game Boy Advance)|the Game Boy Advance version of ''Rayman 3'']], [[Rayman]] uses his telescopic fist in a similar manner to how it was used in [[Rayman 1|the original ''Rayman'' game]], with him being able to charge his fists for stronger attacks or just throw them normally. Throughout the game, he will receive several upgrades for his fists, such as being able to throw both at once, the ability to grab [[Purple Lum]]s, and finally the Super Fist, which allows him charge his fists for even stronger attacks.

[[Rayman]] begins ''[[Rayman Origins]]'' with only the ability to jump on enemies to defeat them, this is quickly rectified as [[Rayman]] and his friends rescue [[Betilla]] in [[It's a Jungle Out There...]], who then gives the heroes the ability to attack. Unlike past titles, where the telescopic fist was [[Rayman]]'s primary means of attack, [[Rayman]] is now able to perform a variety of close-to-medium-range punches and kicks. The telescopic fist remains accessible to [[Rayman]] by holding down the attack button and releasing, as it behaved in past titles. Other heroes also have attacks that are functionally similar, but aesthetically different. [[Globox]] attacks using slaps and kicks, while [[Teensie]]s attack using magic, and [[Barbara]] uses her axe to attack.

 

The attack power is retained in ''[[Rayman Legends]]'', all previous characters use the same attacks, barring the ground kick move, which is changed to a [[crush attack]].

In ''[[Rayman Jungle Run]]'' and ''[[Rayman Fiesta Run]]'', the player can tap a button on the screen to attack. The characters can only use the running punch, likely due to the fact that they are constantly running, and the air kick. In ''[[Rayman Adventures]]'' and ''[[Rayman Mini]]'', the player taps a certain side of the screen to attack. Along with the running punch and air kick, these games also give the player access to [[crush attack]]s, with the latter game even letting the player use the ground kick move from ''[[Rayman Origins]]'' while crouched. This can only happen in a few levels, however.
