The [[Polokus|Bubble Dreamer]] suggests that he was created by [[Mr Dark]] – this is one of the game's few references to [[Rayman 1|the original ''Rayman'']] [[Bad Rayman|antagonist]]. It is unclear whether the [[Polokus|Bubble Dreamer]] confuses Raymesis with [[Bad Rayman]] or simply makes a joke about their resemblance (he looks almost identical to [[Rayman]]'s evil clone created by [[Mr Dark]] in [[Rayman 1|the original game]]), or if the two are linked in some other way, even them being the same character. In dialogue removed from the final game, he also refers to Raymesis as DarkRay:
