Kagouflap or Hoodloon?
As you play the level of the summit beyond the clouds where the hoodloon is seen, you can see that the hoodloon is not wearing a metal helmet and different colours to that of the Kagouflap. so could the two picturs be switched?
- I'm not sure. You'd have to ask Spiraldoor. Also: who are you? Iheckler9 14:58, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, I believe the one with the metal helmet is the Kagouflap, a scrapped enemy which was a bit different than the Kagustick (Hoodloon). —Spiraldoor 14:38, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
Hitting the Hoodloon
If you can hit the Hoodloon, does that mean you can see the red ring round it? If so, does that mean you can view the information by pressing O? (I'm not sure what button it is in other versions.) Iheckler9 14:58, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
- I have never succeeded to hit them and I've never seen the red ring, but if it is possible to hit them they may have not add the informations like they did for Uglies or Ray-Gnomes. I have only the ps2 version so I don't know if you can interact with them in some ways in other versions. RaySpola 16:10, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
- I have the PS2 version too and have tried to hit them but failed. Iheckler9 15:49, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
- Judging by the text extracted by Drolpiraat, the game does not contain any information regarding the Hoodloon. It might be interesting to see if it can be killed, though. Resistance and all that. —Spiraldoor 14:38, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
- We need to ask Sansebas, he is the one according to whom it is possible to hit the Hoodloon. Any piece of information relevant to its resistance would be absolutely fantastic. —Hunchman801 13:46, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
- Can you only hit it when it's carrying Hoodlums? Iheckler9 13:49, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
- After noticing my question to Sansebas had been in my outbox for a year, I sent him an email instead and got a reply straight away:
- “That's a LONG time ago, I'm not even sure if I wrote that. All I can remember is that you see a red arrow indicating you can shoot the flying hoodlum althought I never succeeded in it. I'm not even sure of this anymore since it's such a long time ago since I've played Rayman3. Best thing to do for you is replay the level with the hoodloon and see if you can get that marker (red arrow) on him and try to shoot him.”
- Unfortunately, this isn't helping much. I suggest as many of us as possible replay the level and try to get that red circle and hit the hoodloon. If the results are not conclusive, we'll have to amend the article as we have to back up claims made on the wiki. —

- I'll take pictures to see if it's possible. UPDATE: I've aimed at the Hoodloon carrying the Hoodmonger Officer, and the red circle appears around both of them at once but only gives the info on the Officer. I haven't yet figured out if you can hit him or not, but I'll check again later.--iHeckler9

- Very interesting! I didn't even know it was possible to aim at two enemies at the same time... Is it still possible to aim at the Hoodloon once he has dropped the Hoodmonger? And yeah, whether it can be hit is extremely important, second only to how much damage it may take to defeat it. :) —

- My theory is that there's only one ring around the Officer, and the Hoodloon just happens to be caught in it. I think it's impossible to aim at the Hoodloon when there's no Hoodlum there because there's one flying under the bridge long after the others are dead that can't be killed. Perhaps you can only hit him with a Hoodlum in its mouth, although, I locked onto them and the Officer was holding on to the Hoodloon with one hand, the same position when one grabs a balloon and floats down. Recently, without paying much attention, I shot the Officer as he was still floating down from the balloon and he expanded, probably full of helium or something, and floated away. I think it was a 1-hit kill, and this might also be the case for the Hoodloon. --iHeckler9

- Wait, I misunderstood your reply. If there was only one red circle, then it probably was the Officer's. Is it possible to hit the Hoodloon in this state, when he is still holding the Officer? Also, you said it was impossible to hit the Hoodloon once he's dropped the Officer, right? How close were you? —

- I don't know if you can hit him while he's holding a Hoodlum, but I'll definitely try. There are two Hoodloons, one that swoops in from the opening cutscene and one that lifts the Officer in after that. It's impossible to hit the first one from under the bridge (all he does is flap about under the bridge in a circle) and when you're on top of the bridge you can occasionally see him flying through some of the wood, but you can't kick him like you usually can when a Hoodlum's close to Rayman. So it looks like the only way you can attack them is when they're carrying someone. EDIT: From what I've done it's not only really annoying to hit, but it may be impossible. I tried shooting the one that carried the Officer in, but it kept dropping him right before I punched him. Perhaps we will never know, or they're just invincible. --iHeckler9

Kagalpha
It says here that the Hoodloon was originally called the Kagalpha, which I'm sure is the name Scaleman was going to be called. Also, what's the Kagoustick? Iheckler9 13:58, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
- The article is wrong. Scaleman = Kagalpha. The Kagustick is another name for the Hoodloon; the Kagouflap was a similar but distinct flying Hoodlum with a metal helmet, and it dealt out devastating 'ball strikes' from an awkward camera angle. The Kagouflap was removed and the Kagustick/Hoodloon was left in. —Spiraldoor 14:38, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
- The Kagouflap can be found only in a cutscene from the Summit Beyond the Clouds. --Haruka 15:16, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
