The gameplay of this version is similar to that of the console version in the sense that the player has a Rabbid ride inside a shopping cart and collect items for the Rabbids' moon pile, before transporting down a toilet. The exception is that rather than being a platformer, the player has to solve a puzzle by using whatever utilities the player has for each puzzle, and depending on where these are placed, the Rabbid in the shopping cart will move by itself. Not every utility has to be used in order to solve the puzzle. At least one object must be collected before the Rabbid can go down the toilet, though many puzzles have more than 1 object that can be collected. If the player collects less than 100% of the objects, then they'll get a silver shopping cart icon on the level select, whereas getting 100% will make the shopping cart icon gold.

Utilities
Utilities
During puzzles, the player is given several Utilities to help them solve a puzzle. These range from Helium Balloons to raise objects into the air, to Bulldogs that chase the Rabbids and even Washing Machines that teleport objects and Rabbids.
Throughout the game, the player is given several utilities to help them solve a puzzle. These include the following (in the gallery's order):

* Ramp: These often fill gaps on the floor.
Ramp (thin):
* Rocket Punch: These propel Rabbids and objects in the direction the boxing glove is facing. This one works diagonally.
* Bouncing Boxing Glove: These propel Rabbids and objects in the direction the boxing glove is facing. This one works vertically.
* Bowling Ball: Used to crush small boxes, destructible walls and some other objects.
* Scissors: Mainly used to cut ropes.
Wooden Crate
* Bull: These huge creatures kick Rabbids or objects with their hind legs, propelling them in the direction behind them.
Rabbid Bag
* Helium Balloon: Full of helium, they rise, often taking objects underneath them with them.
Fan
* Helium Tank: These cause Rabbids to inflate and float upwards temporarily. They will keep moving in a certain direction while floating if they interact with a wall, object and especially a fan.
* Rope: Ropes can be attached to most other objects, including Rabbids.
Pulley
* Safe: These are often attached to ropes and used to weigh things down.
* Destructible Wall: These are often uses as gap fillers, and can be broken by heavy objects. Rabbids can break them by landing on them or by getting distracted by a Boombox that's playing music on top of it. They'll start bouncing and break the ground.
Basketball
* Boombox: These cause Rabbids to bounce on the ground, and are often used in conjunction with destructible walls (when used as a floor).
* Bulldogs: These chase Rabbids and often bite them. If a Rabbid is being bitten then the player can blow into the console's microphone and free them.
Octopus
* Washing Machines: These are often used to teleport Rabbids or objects, and come in Red, Yellow and Blue. Normally 2 of them will teleport things if they are both the same colour. However, if multiple are present in the same colour, then anything traveling between them with cycle through them in a specific order. If the player places them, then it will be based on which one they placed first. If they are already placed when the level starts, then it depends on each level.
* TV: These distract Rabbids until they are turned off by being hit with something or losing power from a generator or a treadmill.

Challenges
Challenges
While playing the game, the player can unlock 4 different challenges, which each have 20 levels. Similar to the main game, the player must get at least a silver completion on each level to unlock the next one. The levels can be also be 100% (gold) but it doesn't unlock anything. Unlike the main game, the first 3 challenges only involve Rabbids, without a shopping cart Rabbid.
Air-bunny
<blockquote>"Pick up as many objects as you can without your Rabbid touching the ground."</blockquote>

Throughout the game, the player can unlock 4 different Challenges, which each have 20 levels. Similar to the main game, the player must get at least a silver completion on each level to unlock the next one. The levels can be also be 100% (gold) but it doesn't unlock anything. Unlike the main game, the first 3 challenges only involve Rabbids, without a shopping cart Rabbid.
This challenge involves placing puzzle utilities like in the normal levels, but instead of there being a Shopping Cart Rabbid, it's a single Rabbid. The Rabbid needs to use the various utilities to pick up point orbs, instead of objects, before touching the ground. One the Rabbid touches the ground, the levels ends and the overall score is calculated.

Addicted to TV
<blockquote>"Place 2 Rabbids under each TV set so they don't miss their favourite TV show."</blockquote>

This challenge doesn't require placing any puzzle utilities, but rather the player can manipulate the various utilities and walls, floors, ect. instead. When they are touched by the player, the "double arrow" icon appears allowing them to rotate it, similar to playing a normal puzzle.

Rabbids, go away!
<blockquote>"Take Advantage of the Rabbids' snooze to eject them all off the screen."</blockquote>

This challenge involves using puzzle utilities to manipulate the sleeping Rabbids to walk off or fly off the edge of the screen. Unlike the other challenges, this one requires the player to complete the entire objective, and not just the minimum, to beat the level. This means that getting a silver completion will count as failing the level, and the player will need to retry it and get a gold completion to unlock the next level.

A toilet, a shopping cart.
<blockquote>"Objects galore! Position the shopping cart and toilet to pick up as many items as possible."</blockquote>

This challenge involves placing the Shopping Cart Rabbid and the Toilet in an already designed puzzle. The player has to collect point orbs instead of objects, similar to Air-bunny.

DSi Enhanced Edition
DSi Enhanced Edition
After the original release of the game, there was an updated version (DSi Enhanced Edition), that included features that utilized the DSi and later DS' cameras. If this version of the game is being run on a DSi or a 3DS/2DS, the player can access an extra feature on the main menu. This allows them to take a picture of something with either of the console's cameras, and use buttons on the touch screen to manipulate the image in various ways.<br>

Section 1
