I think it is safe to assume that the word 'Moskito' is used as both the name of the character from the original game and its species. I'm not happy with the way Sergio moved the articles though: While 'Moskito (species)' may be a good replacement for 'Mosquito' (which I think is suitable), 'Moskito (Rayman 1)' is just plain stupid in my opinion, and should be reverted back to the plain 'Moskito'.
