[[Rayman]] arrives in a small valley with some structures and what appears to be a parked pirate ship. It is here that the Lums and Cage for the level can be found. Beyond this place, Rayman makes his way across several wooden bridges over a larger valley until he finds [[Uglette]], sitting by herself, weeping. As Rayman goes to ask her what's wrong, she explains that the [[Robo-Pirate|pirate]]s have taken away all of her [[Baby Globox|babies]]. She also tells him [[Globox]] tried to stop them but he was kidnapped and taken to [[The Buccaneer|their prison ship]]. Rayman has to rescue the [[baby Globox]]es in the mines by using a pirate [[warship]]. After all of the baby Globoxes are saved from the four corners of the mines, Uglette is returned to her normal self and a baby Globox gives Rayman the [[Rain Mask]] so he can dance to grow plants and short-circuit electrical barriers that block his path. Uglette leaves in the warship, allowing Rayman to free a final cage and escape via a [[spiral door]].

*In the original, this was Uglette's first appearance, minus a mention by [[Globox]] at the end of [[The Canopy]]. In this version however, it is possible to meet Uglette at [[Globox's House]] from after [[The Sanctuary of Water and Ice]] on wards (and it is likely that the player would, due to the need to go there twice).

*The cage containing the [[Teensie]] who makes the spiral door can be seen when Rayman first encounters Uglette (it was absent originally due to the mask being found). The player cannot break it until after the main part of the level, however.

*The sound typically made when Rayman touches one of Polukus' masks is heard when he receives the Rain Mask, despite it having nothing to do with those masks. This is either a production oversight(the fourth mask of Polukus was originally obtained at that point) or a decision by the developers to leave it in as the item obtained was still a mask.
