André is rude and mean, often making cruel remarks about Rayman and Globox throughout the games. He enjoys causing chaos and destruction and dreams of taking over the Glade of Dreams. He is insane and manic, and is revealed as a coward at the end of Rayman 3, when Rayman is about to convert him back into a Red Lum.

Trivia
* When Rayman Raving Rabbids was intended to be the fourth installement in the series, Michel Ancel confirmed during an interview that "Rayman will have to save the world, his girlfriend and the girlfriend of his old enemy and his old enemy too!" Concept art shows that Rayman's girlfriend and the baby Globoxes have been captured by the Emperor Rabbid. It was also confirmed that the 'old enemy' with whom Rayman would have to join forces was André, presumably meaning that Rayman must also rescue André's girlfriend (who may be the Hoodlum Toots). If the game would have not been cancelled, Andre would have been the first villain in the series to have join forces with Rayman.
* During a cutscene in Rayman 3, Andre makes a reference to The Legend Of Zelda in witch he says to a fairy: Bug off fairy, Zelda needs you.
