Are you sure he was Rayman's friend before the game began? I never saw him in Rayman 1. Rayman 1 is a 2d game and is the first game, but it is in another world. A 2d world with theme places.. With Mr.dark as main enemy and other enemies.

Nobody knows how exactly they became friends before Rayman 2 began because he along with Ly, Clark, Murfy etc weren't designed until then. Also, who are you? --
