Species confusion

Muddibogs are subterranean beasts with long necks. For some unknowable evolutionary reason, they have developed hands where their heads should be. In combat this means that an unloaded fist will be caught and hurled right back at you. An injured Muddibog will often retreat underground, so be patient and resume attack when they return.
—Strategy guide, Rayman 3

Are we absolutely sure this is referring to Muddibogs? Cos the whole hands-for-heads, long necks, and living underground things are making me think that this was written to describe the Mawpaws but got mixed up somewhere. --iHeckler9  11:11, 23 October 2023 (CEST)

That's a good point, it does indeed sound like the authors of the guide mixed up their creatures. In which case, this appears to cast a light on a scrapped aspect of the game, where Mawpaws would have been enemies rather than allies? —    12:15, 23 October 2023 (CEST)
I take it that this quote should be removed from the Muddibog page and added to a new section in the Mawpaw one then? --iHeckler9  13:06, 23 October 2023 (CEST)
I think a good first step would be to verify that this quote is faithful to the content of the strategy guide in question. I do not have it handy at the moment, though. —    16:41, 23 October 2023 (CEST)
It seems that the description is accurate. However, I wonder if it would be better to just add a mention of this in the trivia section. --Elite Piranha   17:54, 23 October 2023 (CEST)
The trivia for which article? Also, do you suggest not moving the quote? —    22:28, 25 October 2023 (CEST)
Well, considering how well the quote describes the Mawpaw, I guess moving it is inevitable, however I think a text should be included in the trivia section (of the Mawpaw article) to give context about why that quote was placed there. --Elite Piranha   05:33, 30 October 2023 (CET)
I have moved the quote and used a reference to give context, let me know what you think. —    02:15, 5 November 2023 (CET)
This looks like a fair place to leave it I think. Crazy how the quote stayed on the Muddibog article for all this time before anyone questioned it lol --iHeckler9  05:43, 5 November 2023 (CET)
Return to "Muddibog" page.
