Talk:Paluchard

According to this guide (which has been wrong before, saying the Zombie Chickens live in the Land of the Livid Dead), these creatures are called Mawpaws. Now we already have a name for a creature that we believe is a Mawpaw, but this one actually seems to make more sense. Its mouth is a hand. Its maw is a paw. My question is, where did we get the name "Paluchard" from (I assume it's French) and which creature does it apply to? --iHeckler9 18:47, 24 March 2015 (CET)

The French names of R3 creatures were first quoted in an old press pack: http://www.raymanpc.com/Img/dossierpresse_rayman3.pdf

Since the publication, we had the official confirmation that the kangaroo creature from the intro is a "Flabar", thanks to the French description of the Sylkins and The History of Rayman.

"Paluchard" is a pun with the word "paluche", synonym of "main" ("hand"). So this name had been given to the dinosaur in Razoff's basement.

Now for the English names...

The "Flabar" could be called "Bonton" (thanks to the English description of the Sylkins).

But I've never see an English name for the Paluchards.

And I don't know where "Mawpaw" comes from, and why it had been given to the kangaroo creature.

French names and English names are indeed different. As this is an official guide I would move this page to "Mawpaw", and move the current Mawpaw page to "Bonton" (as "Flabar" seems to be its French name), however I think we shuld have some sort of vote on the matter. --iHeckler9 21:25, 30 March 2015 (CEST)
