Anime

The best anime I watched recently was Foolie Coolie which is only 6 episodes long but it has a load of symbolism and a crazy story, it's really engaging and the music and visuals were incredible.
I also watched the movie Kimi no Nawa recently which was as good as people say, it has the top spot on MAL at the moment.
Hmm, I've been interested in seeing for myself how good Kimi no na wa is, especially since I didn't like the director's previous work... I'll probably watch it soon.
And thanks for the FLCL mention, I've put it on my Plan To Watch. I see it's by Gainax... if it's half as good as their work on Evangelion (the series, that is) I'll surely love it :D

FLCL does get pretty chaotic so you might have to re-watch it/read the wiki to get a better understanding of what's actually going on but it's basically got both a literal story and a symbolic story which are both very good

I'm re-watching Cow Boy Bebop lately. It's been a while, and it's still great! I've also finished Space Dandy.

Hem, also, Little Witch Academia was nice. Completely childish, but nice. :3

Yeah, I first watched it when I wasn't really into anime (and to be fair, I'm still not a fan), and I loved it! It's amazing in its animation, music, and story-telling.
Plus, it has only one season, with a complete arc, and a lot of fillers episodes that have unique characters and stories. Just how I like series! :D

(the opposite of what Netflix does: lots of seasons, long episodes, that are all following one long and complex story)
