Looking it up in wikipedia he was the co designer.

This is incorrect. Often times Wikipedia gets plagued by fans adding opinion or trying to "make" things true. Next time if you need game credits *always* look on Mobygames first, since Mobygames uses credits taken directly from the credit sequence of the game. Too much stuff that isn't proven fact or has no source tends to get substantiated by wiki pages.

The only two official credits Ancel has gotten on Rayman 3 is "Special Thanks" and "Rayman's creator." I would say Rayman 2 and 3 aren't that similar as well. Characterization, tone, atmosphere, and art direction as well as general level design are very different, but none of that really goes in this thread. The way the characters were handled in Rayman 3 is probably the main thing Ancel would have done differently I'm sure.

Well it would be great to hear what ubisoft are doing at E3. Only a couple of weeks now i think.

Remember this?

Oh God..... Well, it can't get much worse than that. If there is a Rayman 4 then it needs to stay clear of those stupid Rabbid things, i don't even want them in the story or as an enemy. But as teaser trailers go... that was painful. :tssk:

Anyway, from Machinima;

Ubisoft is still totally working on Beyond Good & Evil 2, BTW.

So that means Ancel's priorities are not developing Rayman i would imagine. That's if he's still working at Ubisoft. There are alot of 'Maybes'.

Well, don't get your panties in a twist. Beyond Good and Evil is a great game as well, and I'm looking forward to BGE2.

Machinima is a more reliable source than Nicolas Choukroun?

I too would chime in and say Nicolas Choukroun is probably our most trusted source for now. News websites and Ubisoft themselves are unreliable.

Also at Idlethumbs, the same Ubisoft employee is hinting that Beyond Good and Evil 2 has been on hold since January. Or "off the rails" as he put it. He can't really say anything more I don't think.

Check here to see the thread at Thumbs for those who are interested:

If BG&E has been on hold since that time, would that mean Ancel has been working on a new Rayman for that long? I kind of hope so. When a team takes more time on a game, the better and more flawless it gets, usually.

Several teams in Arenanet have been spending more than 2 years developing Guild Wars 2. They want to spend as much time on delevoping it as possible, and so far, the ingame footage has shown alot of beautiful things.

Ubisoft's press conference is on the Monday at E3 and there official games are.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (PC, PS3, X360)
Shaun White Skateboarding (PC, PS3, X360)
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier (PC, PS3, X360)
Tom Clancy's HAWX 2 (PC, PS3, X360)

Obvioualy that doesn't mean that's all we'll be seeing. I'm sure we'll see some Move title and something for Natal. Rayman?... Doubt it. Would make for a great E3 for me though if they even mentioned Rayman.

Whoa, careful. Obviously talking about Rayman at all whatsoever at Ubisoft is strictly prohibited. I wouldn't be surprised if Ubisoft made all of Rayman's fans stop talking about him completely. I also wouldn't be surprised if Ubisoft sued this forum and made it shut down. Who's Rayman? Is he a Mega Man boss? Never heard of him.

I will never forgive Ubisoft about RRR's sudden appearance and canceling R4 and continuing a Rabbids saga with more 3 games and other kind of marketing; until they make a true sequel that is good enough to the veteran fans.

While the the first raving rabbids game was alright, I do hate how ubisoft just decided to make more sequels for rabbids in 2/3 years than Rayman had since his creation. Rayman made ubi what it is today. They need to respect him more. :/

Well they know the interest from the fans, and just reading reactions on N4G about the rumours obviously it's a franchise that people want to return, back to the main series anyway.

I'm sure they're kicking themselves for not tying Rayman games to a server, like they're doing with their latest games. They could just shut it down and render every Rayman game unplayable.

Uh, those are the games that are already announced. Of course they're not showing Rayman or Beyond Good & Evil 2 on there, it's still a secret... :P

You make it sound like Rayman is some 'huge regrettable misstake' Ubisoft made. :|
I'm sure they think it is.
