It's just the stupid naive humor of something so unfunny and juvenile to the point of being funny because of the reaction of the adults. It's a bit similar to the Shrek meme as of lately where a kid friendly protagonist like Shrek is portrayed as a rapist, it's just one of those unfunny things that's so funny because of it.
