Future Rayman games

What if the new Rayman game is just Rayman taking back the world from the Rabbids. Like a normal 3D Rayman game except he is going around stopping them all from doing whatever they do.
Won't happen, the franchises are definitively separated. And that's the way most people want it.

Yup, noted in the Rayman himself thread. While that tweet does sound good, this is UbiSoft. I don't want to sound like a complete cynic, but I'm not raising my hopes just yet.

Come on, you make it sound like Rayman belongs to Capcom. It can't be that bad.

Haha, imagine if it is just some compilation of already existing Rayman games :P

If they choose compilation, this is only thing I would accept:
PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, PS Vita and possibly PC, PS3 and 360 compilation on disc of:
Rayman 1 Saturn port with enhanced filter graphics option and original without filter (if they are lazy to make complete remake from scratch but that would be preferable), Rayman 2 Dreamcast port enhanced to 1080p with all mini games and Globox Village, Rayman 3 GameCube port enhanced to 1080p (and not shitty PSN and XBLA port) with 2D Nightmare included and alternative Begoniax boss battle music, Rayman Arena GameCube port enhanced to 1080p.
Wii U version of such compilation should also include enhanced 1080p Origins version with GamePad support since if you play Origins on Wii U, it would have to be Wii version which is not upscaled like Dolphin could upscale it and does not support GamePad which is shame. Nintendo should make Wii U GamePad to emulate Classic Controller for Wii games played on Wii U :|

This is only accaptable compilation for me. Everything else would be not worth.

Bah. No. A new Rayman game can only happen once Ancel is finished with WiLD and BGE2, by which time Western civilisation will be in a state of decay and frivolous things like videogames will be the last thing on people's minds.

We must keep in mind that Ancel was not involved with R3 developement at all.

True, though R3 didn't receive the same level of acclaim that its Ancel headed brethren did. That being said, it wasn't bad at all, and it's one of my personal favourites. But keep in mind that Ubi's not the same Ubi it was in 2003, having one of their other studios undertake a Rayman project might not turn out to be as effective now.

I'm less worried about other people taking the helm of Rayman (though I'd infinitely prefer Ancel keep the property) - Rayman 3 may bug me, but it had some great ideas and good execution of said ideas. No, I just sense that Ubi wouldn't bother with a brand spankin' new Rayman title without Ancel. Rayman's not exactly their biggest selling IP, and like Master said, this is not 2003 when 3D platformers were still major cross-platform (hah!) players. Plus, it's been mentioned before that Legends didn't meet expectations sales-wise, so 2D isn't necessarily a winner either.

I hopes it's another collection. We're running short on those. Or maybe we can get another Rayman 2 port.

Yeah, and try to break the final boss this time, the 1000th Lum was a nice touch, but we need to go deeper.

Why the Saturn version? So you can have the shattering window effect during the final battle at the expense of all the sound effects in the game sounding like digital watch beeps?

Yet another new generation of gamers will be deprived of the majesty that is the Hall of Doors.

Why the GameCube version? The PC and Xbox versions both have better graphics.

Everybody, this man apparently places greater value on the difference between owning a black label and green label version of the exact same game than he does on owning a special edition 20th-anniversary HD remaster compilation disc that doesn't line up with his obscurely specific expectations.

Does the 3DS version not have it? I thought it was more or less a translation of the N64 version.

I guess it has additional minigames. Though they would need some modifications since the game obviously wouldn't be compatible with Game Boy Advance.
