Important Information

Still, Ubisoft could easily have backed up the Eve system beforehand. This would have saved it.

Actually Groupee manages the forum server and it's including data. So Groupee is responsible for the safety of the backups. Ubisoft had probably choosen for Eve because it's remotely hosted, which means that Groupee mananges the system updates and the data, so that Ubisoft doesn't have to spend all day to take care of that. But even in remotely hosted forum software solutions, there are better choices than Eve, think about Lithium or JiveForums, both used by companies like Nintendo and Sony.

What I meant is that Ubisoft should have manually backed up their system. It can be done with any host, I think.

RaymanZone members should really leave that forum and move to a new one or to an existing one. Such data losses will occur again and again.

Yes, if only RZ and PC could be affiliates, than members can choose to come to which ever site they choose (hoping that they would choose PC).

I really enjoyed RZ, as much as PC, but I left that place because of their forum system. Don't want to see all my posts deleted again :(

That.... sucks... baddly bad. So that makes them... have four back ups a year... which is .... not even close to a week of backups PC gets. Eve is so pathetic.

Actually, I think that Eves gets backed up a lot, but all backups since last October were corrupted -_-

That's true. Groupee makes backups of all their Eve servers 2 times a day. But somehow those backup servers were corrupted too. Which made them lost like 3 months of data.

I don't really understand how backups can be defaced... Once a forum is backed up, all memory is saved.

I don't really know how the Eve servers are setted up technically, but if the master server crashes, it could be that one or more servers connected to it are defaced too, like the backup servers.
