It would be interesting to know when the database was last saved. I was told Ubi created backups twice a day, so I think RZ should not have lost many messages.

These 'hackers' are most likely a bunch of amateurs. They've just managed to obtain Newray's password; perhaps they guessed it, used macros, or obtained it from another forum.

Then with Newray, with his mod permissions, they have been able to delete every topic in the forums.

They have also edited old moderator posts, to make it seemed like they had hacked moderators too. This is not true; having mod powers, they would easily have been able to sticky and change old posts of ours. Check the dates if you like. And who are they all edited by? Newray.

Now all we have to do is change Newray's password, and back the forums up.

This would also explain where all of your posts have been going to! Don't worry; you'll get them back soon. ;)

These people may resort to flooding, however, once they find that they can no longer enter Newray's account. If they do, please do not reply to the flooding. It will only encourage them. When we see it, we'll deal with it.

Like a day before all this happened, like 2 new acounts appeared and flooded the of topic forums with the same topic.
 
These things are bound to happen, and, as an official forum, they readily do. But really, this is just a hiccup in our normal day. This entire thing will be sorted out soon, and there's plenty of backups. Jugrot and whoever else thought they could do damage to RZ when in all reality, they've done nothing, but give us a little something to put in the RZ documentary.

Like stated by Xei, they simply hacked an existing mod's account. Nothing more. They don't have any reason to do this, if only to bring destruction to an innocent forum. What they did was cowardly and immature. We can only hope that they learn that these sorts of things are simply unnaceptable, especially in the real world, where they will fail if they act like this.
 
It´s unsurprising that the forums could be retrieved...

I wonder what jugrot´s reply shall be :P

Anyway, Pok's been working pretty much solid for the last three hours or so, and it seemed like UbiRazz had to spend the second half of his day looking after an ex-forum of his; and of course Acheval was there too, and she's mailed Groupee for a backup, which they should be about to send. If it weren't for them we'd still be stuck at the 'omgwtfnau?!' stage; or I certainally would be. o__O

It'll probably all be back by to tommorow, although a few more recent posts may have dissapeared; it looks like these worms have been eating away at the forums for quite some time, albeit unnoticed; well, almost, except for the hundred or so 'omgilostleik3posts!' messages. :|

This is confusing, who has deleted the boards? Xeiqu or the KRZK?
By the way, they have not backuped the forums yet.
 
No, it was coincidence that Xei had deleted a few topics at the same time as the rest of them went. It was KRZK that deleted the forums.
 
Thank you. By the way, Jman has said that the forums were flooded one day before the deletion, but they had been flooded for more than one month, remember... I am sure this is no coincidence either.
 
The forums were majorly flooded just before the forums were deleted, more than they were in the past month ;).
But it might be a coincidence, it might not be, only time will tell.
 
Many other weird things had been happening on RZ for one month or two before it was hacked, I bet they are related to the final deletion.
 
So I suppose you will be here for one or two days: it looks like Ubi have to ask Groupee for a backup—in case you do not know, Groupee have developed Eve but they also host it—,which should take a little time. Oh, well, we will see when we have to say goodbye ;)

Well, ya know, I kind of like hanging out with the Old RZ guys! See how life was ever since the Raymanzone php was truly killed. Am I right old friends? *Hugs everybody from the old RZ* :mrgreen: You guys should some Rayman emoticons ya know? *Hugs Hunchman and tries finding hoodcom for some reason*
 
The RaymanZone forums have not come back yet... I suppose this is just a question of time, they need to get the backup from Groupee.
I also like talking with members from the old RZ, which was great before I was unfairly unmodded and banned... I think that as someone who had spent a lot of time on that forum and who had brought so much to it, I am the one who has been the most unfairly treated by its unfair admin, but I have never felt the need of destroying it :|
When did you join the former RZ, Kelvin? I was one of its very first members ^^
