Moderator Applications

Wow, that's quite alot. I thought the highest would be around 5 people.
Will we find out who they are tomorrow or will it take a few more days afterwards to go through the applications? It'll be interesting to see who the new mods will be. :)
As I said, the list of the applicants will not be divulged. As for the new moderators, it may take us a few days to decide. All I can tell you is that each unsuccessful applicant will receive a personal message explaining why they weren't chosen.

A lot of the applicants have stated that they have applied though. :P

But it can be some other applicants other than us, but they wanted to stay the "annonymatus".

Thank you all for your applications!

The procedure is now over, and we're going to give each message careful consideration. In the end, the results will be determined by a vote involving Stacey, Xen, Jman, Hoodcom and myself.

We have received thirteen applications in total, some of them being really impressive, so it may take us some time to make up our minds.

Thanks from me too. It's going to be a tough decision indeed.

I'll de-announce this now anyway.

I'm sorry, but you had one week to write it. Moreover, we have already started the decision process, which means it is too late :(

Dear members,

Today is a very important step for us, as it brings several drastic changes to the organisation of our community. Since I'm not especially keen on circumlocutions, I suggest we go straight to the point.

First of all, our fellow Xenon, who has been a moderator since March 2005, and a super moderator since June 2007, is appointed to the position of English administrator. He is now in charge of the English section of Pirate-Community and should be your main interlocutor.

Then, Stacey, who has been a moderator since August 2008, is promoted to the rank of super moderator. She is now in charge of the new English moderating team.

And finally, speaking of the new moderators, they were chosen tonight after several vote sessions in which the current moderating team and two ex-moderators took part. We were amazed by the overall quality of the thirteen applications we have received, and we finally decided to choose no less than four of them. They are, in alphabetical order:
  • Acarr
  • Holy Crap
  • Matyuv
  • Tobbe
We are sorry for the members who were not chosen and sincerely thank them for sending us their applications.

I hope that you will all join me in congratulating those whose status at Pirate-Community has changed tonight.

Thanks for your attention,

Hunch

Millions of congrats to our new orange crew guys, and to you Xen on being an English admin! :teuf:

Let's celebrate with ice cream!

Yay for ice cream. P:

Congrats everyone! I have to learn to control my "dark side". :boon:

EDIT : Ok seriously what did you meant by that?

Does this mean Hunch won't be around the English boards anymore? :(
I will, as the founder and main administrator of PC. But work keeps me busy, and I did not want PC to suffer from this, so here we are :)

@Serza: What Xenon referred to as the dark side of PC is the inclination to post useless messages ;)
