New site

Sort of what Sonic Retro does? If memory serves, you get 20 posts, then can't post anymore and have to be reviewed for full membership. It's a nice system given their size, but I don't think it's necessary for us. We're far smaller and it's usually just the odd troublemaker.

I believe the Oddworld forums have a similar system too. Although I second what Master said. It's a rare occurrence.

Huuuh, yup.

I just have one thing to say :
YOU'RE A KID NOW ! YOU'RE A SQUID NOW :mryellow:

Yeah we're too small for a system like that.

Though I like the idea of having a more detailed profile... just for shits and giggles.

Edit: You could a few things on it such as your favourite Rayman game or favourite Rayman track (then a link to them on Raywiki and Raytunes?) etc.

It's not a bad idea inco, but I don't think it's necessary for now. We'll see if we get more spam.

Guys, I was wondering what you thought of the calendar.

I've noticed it's barely used at all, and even when it is, it's mostly for fun rather than to provide any useful information. The staff could add more stuff in there, such as the deadlines for the SOTM and other events, but we don't have so many going on. We could also provide it as an iCalendar file (.ics) but I bet that just like the RSS feed no one would actually use it on their phones.

So, does anyone use it to keep themselves informed of the current events? Would anyone do it if all events were added to it? Or should we just drop it? All suggestions welcome too.
I myself have never used the calendar, and it'd be kinda redundant to use it for birthday notices or important announcements since we already have corresponding things for those; therefor I vote for scraping the calendar.

As for the news section, I wonder if we could have a similar system as used here: http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/
Each news article is in fact a post on their forum, and their comments are the replies to that post.
That’s part of vBulletin. RPC uses phpBB.
oh and maybe buttons for Strike and YouTube in the full editor
That would be nice!
Maybe automatic resizing of large images?
Thumbs up! Would stop members from posting big images!

Hunchy-Munchy, if you’re still reading this thread, look at the headers of the quotes. I’d suggest implementing date stamps in quotes.

The feature may be inspired by vBulletin, but you'll notice that the forums which these news posts are directly linked to, with their comments sections being the posts made within said forums, is phpBB.

Oh WOW I didn’t know you could implement that in phpBB!

Well you can modify phpBB (or any other piece of software for that matter) to be anything you like, really.

Authorize the use of non-Rayman ranks. :mefiant:

It'd be fun to make everyone mr skeltal for halloween

I'm guessing we can only have Ray ranks to show off the actual Rayman topic a little more, considering we don't use a theme that's like covered in purple and 30 raymans on the banner like some forums tend to do. Is it possible to bring back some lost ranks though? There's a lot of broken links and I miss a couple like the magician with a gun and the creepy rayman mascot.
