Yep, it's pretty fucking horrid, and there's too many schools who often become a part of the problem themselves. I've been to better and worse ones during my years in the States, but there have been some that I could absolutely imagine being on board with punishing and shaming kids as long as the parent words like it like they deserve it.
I remember my elementary and middle school teachers trying to teach us respect for teachers/parents in ways that, looking back on it, are downright disgusting, to the point where I was literally told that if the teacher ever accused me of anything, I just had to be quiet and accept the punishment no matter how incorrect it was. The "the kid's story is likely not true and should be considered the least valid" logic is the same type of thinking that probably went through this principal.

Looking back upon the past year, nothing particularly significant. Perhaps slightly too lacking in significance, though at times it tends to prove helpful in the unexpected manner.Rayfist said:
