On the topic of Mr. Sex allow me to share this wonderful trivia provided by Rayman Wikia:

A song called "Mr. Saxobeat" was released by Alexandra Stan in 2010, as it almost relates to Mr. Sax himself. Though the song does not talk about Mr. Sax, the name of it almost sounds like Mr. Sax from Rayman 1.

So it refers to him because Mr. and Sax are combined in Mr. Saxobeat which isn't about him but it almost sounds like him! I swear I read this wiki purely for laughs.

I've seen the twisted world that you make the valley. This should be nothing special to you. :P

I have no idea either.

The wiki got the best things.

I'm not sure if anyone noticed but
I think the knarrens have a small resembalence to the stone people, and were possibly inspired from them, which would explain a lot since rayman 3 takes some elements from the 1st game.
1. The minions are invincible (even though the stone people CAN die in the GBA port :/ )
2.They both have some dude that wants to kill you, and they're like, the BOSS of their race.
3. Mr.Stone and Reflux are embarresed when you kill em, when mr.stone is dancing out of control, his species probably laughed at him and refulx's first taste of defeat :3

Now the two speicies do have their differences, and very different, like the first time you saw the knarrens I bet some peeps shat their jammies, and with stone people, its more like "DON'T YOU EVER BLOODY DIE!?!?"

Back on topic, I was watching some YouTube videos and someone was talking about that Rayman 1 should be Atari Jaguar exclusive at the very beginning but then this idea was scrambled quickly as it's said, but unfortunetally he's talking in german.

Thats not really anything new. It was known since forever that it was planned to be Jaguar exclusive but because they were afraid of bad sales, other versions were created. Too bad video is on german.

Agree. Jaguar was never popular console so if Rayman stayed as Jaguar exclusive, he maybe would never get sequel

Given that Rayman is best known on the PC and PS1, I think it's a practical given that having Jaguar exclusivity would end the franchise there and then.

I have always got the feeling that when the developers realised that the Jaguar was a failing console, they quickly hurried that version out so that they could focus more on making the versions for more successful platforms the best they could possibly be. This would explain why the final release Jaguar version still feels like a beta and engine features that are clearly intended to be there (such as slippery platforms) are not yet coded, with rough workarounds :P.

Hm, that sounds like a perfectly plausible and justified theory indeed, and it does explain a few things.

Sorry to bring back the subject of a remake of rayman 1

I want a remake to be on the 3DS, because the visuals in it are SOOO amazing that it gives Rayman origins and legends some competition, and the 3D would just blow my mind. :D

Anyways, if the 1st game was exclusive for the jaguar, You'd be seeing rayman on many 'underrated games' lists.

Meh, the Art Style of Rayman 1 may not be as is in Origins and Legends, but it's still distinct and deserves a proper overhaul, one thing I've wanted to see for the franchise is a proper, heartfelt HD Original Trilogy.

And not such HD remake as Rayman 3 HD. I can scale the GOG.com version of Rayman 2 to even Full HD resolution ( and without lag ), and it looks better than Rayman 3 HD! Even the original game looked better than its remake, but why the heck did they mess up everything instead of just maximizing the resolution to 1080p?
