You know actually now that you've brought it up I wonder if you have Rayman 1 for the Saturn? I don't know if you've ever mentioned it.
Yeah I have it. I actually remember ordering it from Germany, and the seller was careless enough to accidentally send me an empty box.

They rectified it anyway and sent me the game in the end, but it was such a silly mistake.

As long as he didn't leave it back in Sweden, I think he's got Rayman 1 for the Saturn. Hehe
And then get sent an empty box again? No way!

Ah yeah, we wouldn't want another terrible fate to happen upon your Rayman 1 for the Sega Saturn. I have no clue how they could make that kind of mistake, but since they took care of it, all is well then.

Why does Rayman in this game from the side look cute but when he faces forward he looks like a 50 year old man??

hmm, I've never seen Rayman look like a 50 year old man. It does indeed sound like a strange situation from the almost people episode in Dr. Who with Matt Smith.

Me neither actually. Surely if you've heard him in the PS1 version you wouldn't think he was a 50-yr old man. :oops2:

I played the game in 1997 or 1998 on PS1. I definitely never thought he looked like a 50 year old man.

Ehh, there was that one animation where hes sat down with a grumpy face, or when he gets killed because he stood on spikes.

I do not believe this animation works in every situation where spikes could kill him. Maybe it's just me but I feels like it activates in certain places only.

Yeah, from memory I think it was the wrong notes, and some of the spike pits in Picture City. But otherwise itself just the usual "elections shoot up" animation.

Even then, I don't think we would say that's because he's generally front facing, that's more about specific frames of sprites.

The animation in question happens when he is instakilled by spikes. If the spikes are non-instakill but just happen to take his last hitpoint, you naturally get the standard death sequence.

I seen it happen to Reese yesterday when he was trying out the PC version. He fell on the spikes in Band Land, where it's an instant kill.

And having now seen that animation, would you say my assessment of it making Rayman look like an elderly person was correct? :P

Well the fact that he hunches forward like a person who hurt their back, there is a possibility. :P

I still don't think Rayman facing the front makes him look old, though.

Which is rather unfortunate. :tssk:

But yeah, I did get more areas done than I had before, but as Steo had seen my struggles. :oops2:

It's fine. I know that I'll have my own trouble when I try Rayman 1 again, which I really think it's about time I do. :)

Are the maps in the GBA version of this game different from the others? Also is there a way to see all the levels and the maps on the wiki? So I can print them out

The GBA version is a port of the PC version, so it has basically the same maps as that, with a few changes here and there. Same with the DSi version.

The biggest difference in levels between Advance and the PC port is the absence of the first phase of Bongo Hills (which is a shame cuz the PC version of this phase looks amazing). And yeah there are other changes here and there.
