I remember finishing the game with about 70 lives, but you must have restarted Allegro Presto more than once to get 99 lives ^^
 
I replayed Allegro Presto only once, to get the final cage. I managed to play a whole game without losing a single life but I had to restart some levels to achieve that goal, especially Space Mama's Crater caused me some trouble (I usually have some troubles in the part before Space Mama).
 
I said this because I remembered playing Allegro Presto to get a lot of Tings :) I didn't know it was possible to gather 99 lives without restarting levels in purpose though.
 
When you don't replay the levels unnecessarily and take all the lives, you get 99 in Space Mama's Crater. I got it in Crystal Palace last time I played because I missed the 4 lives in Allegro Presto.
 
I was hardly capable of finishing the game without losing several continues :? Anyway, I don't know what happens when you have zero continue.
 
I do XD I got that alot when I was much younger. It says Game Over at the top with the clock is asleep, and Rayman kinda dances around a bit and falls, or coughs alot then falls.
 
Well, i wouldn't see how it's possible to finish Picture City without losing lives. The level is already hard enough as it is :(. Well, the only cheat i used is the one that gathers all the cages in the levels.
 
I looked at lots maps to find the cages, but it's a waste of time when you could just get the password to Candy Chateau :D
 
Space Mama is the hardest boss in my opinion, and I remember it took me a while to beat her the first time.
