This more looks like he made a map in Rayman Designer and took the screenshot himself.
There is probably a beta of Rayman which hasn't been leaked yet and that can be played up to Picture City.

Please refer to Atari Jaguar Magazine R1 Beta

So I've been experimenting with the prototype in Atari Jaguar, and although Rayman does not pose after hitting and end sign, it seems it was planned at that stage, as when pressing Left+Right in Virtual Jaguar Git, the game does not always crash, and sometimes shows the following:

I'm sure there's more to find, so I'm going to keep looking.

So it wasn't a bug, it was an Easter Egg that didn't sit well with the emulator!

More likely that there is no animation for Rayman when both keys are pressed, and in this prototype, somehow it sets Rayman to the end of level pose.

EDIT: It seems you can corrupt memory further by pressing buttons after a crash. Might be useful for TASing?

EDIT 2: Pressing up+down in the prototype displays the pose without ever crashing. Pressing up+down in the final causes Rayman to do a weird animation where he turns around and faces the screen. Pressing left+right also does this if the game does not crash.

Come to think of it, that screenshot looks familiar. Wasn't that the one that some claimed to be shopped?

Interesting... can you capture that animation for us?

Who's the other dude? Is that the bomb pirate from the first battle with Space Mama?
Yes.

It appears on the back of the case of some PC versions of the game. And I strongly suspect that it's fake because the pirate and the eraser on which he is standing are slightly transparent.

Aha, I knew I'd had encountered it before (on Pirate Community anyways, I've never encountered the PC Rayman 1 box in person).

It appears on the back of the big box of Rayman Gold.

What is also interesting here: The star pencil tiles on the right have never been used in the game. We first saw it in 2D Nightmare:
(1:44 etc.)

Also this screen reminds me always at a screen with the stone head where rayman also makes a scare face. I think it is also fake, because the event-platforms are strange placed. So I assume they made some collages with scare-face-rayman in the early production stages.

Here is the strange animation I found
9cb0137447af8158280f9a3b91717fb3

EDIT: Seems it is used in Betilla cutscenes. Interesting it plays here though.

That's the animation that plays when Rayman gets a new power from Betilla, the only difference is that his symbol doesn't sparkle.

So looking though some stuff in the prototype ROM, me and Got4n have found some text belonging to a game called "Hover Strike", which came out in December 1995, 3 months after Rayman. Doesn't seem to have any relation to UbiSoft, so I have no idea why it is in there, but it is.
