This is pretty good news :)

3d Ripper DX Now supports Direct X 6 (beta). That means:

We can rip models and textures from Rayman 2!!! :D
I immeadiatly took this oppertunity to find out what those globoxes are doing in the menu of Rayman 2:

Nice, eh? By the way: The colors are weird, but I think that's because of the missing shaders and lighting.

weird i recently tryed with the new ripper dx , didn't work for me.
still rayman 3 & m worked

i will try it today with the new 3dr

edit: still can't seem to get it to work(version 1.8.1 says 1.8)
EditEdit: just fixed it, extracted the original exe from the icd file using unsafedisc :D
3x Edit: Working but it seems that it only rips in the game visible faces

unless that it only rips parts of the game scene(in my case) I took several snaps and constructed a r2 model and mapped it with the rayman texture from r3

Looks great!

By the way: the problem with only parts of the scene being ripped might be due to hidden faces removal, so only things that are in sight of the camera are visible. And backface removal :( I hope we can fix that.

maybe with emulated rayman games like the n64's they dont remove the unseen faces?
anybody tried just vieuwing the n64 version wireframe?

In PC it also doesn't. But I think it's a missing feature in 3d ripper x, as it doesn't appear in direct x 8 games, and dx6 is still in beta.

still got my rayman model 8)
and i think im going to try to animate it(as some practice as im learning 3dsmax)

Its easy for me to rip from n64 games, just get Project 64, 3D Ripper DX, Rayman 2 and then you get ripped models to view in a program like MM3D(Misfit Model 3D) but the whole scene is ripped, so you have to go close to the only object you want, then delete the stuff you dont want to be ripped and then save the model and use it for stuff that you need or whatever..............or maybe you can use it to take over everyones brains and make them kill each other :hinhinhin: XD anyway yeah just that and then texture after doing something to get textures online or just convert the dds files :D .

Pretty much all of us are. :) I was just saying that we didn't nee instruction on how to rip models from games from a new member considering if you look at the top post, we already know how. Also THIS topic isn't even supposed to exist because there was one about the same thing before started by Bunnieblaster who started all this.

They like PMD models as my future plan for MMD

First, the guy ripped KH models... ;)

i need 3DS to export as a PMD
