Seeing it on a computer screen rather than my phone, I'm pretty sure now that it's mainly the Popolopoï that I find uncanny in that scene above. Did they just invert the texture colours? They look really wrong.
Ly herself looks OK-ish, though they could probably darken the shade of her clothes slightly. Looks like a similarly cheap edit, probably to increase the contrast because somebody noticed that she looked naked

I guess it's all about the context. While she looks fine like that in the middle of a brochure page, she looks very wrong in the middle of that pirate bastion (as do the blue Popolopoï). Maybe it's just because I grew up with the Western version, but that picture just looks really off to me.
In some pictures her face looks very different:

I was just referring to her in-game appearance, not sure why she looks so different in this artwork. I think she looks off in both cases anyway.

According to this video, the japanese Dreamcast version depicts Ly in a different way than the japanese Revolution version:

I really don't know why they felt the need to change her design again in Rayman Revolution.

Oh, I see, then the artwork you posted is actually identical to her in-game appearance in the Japanese version of Revolution, while my screenshot is from the Japanese Dreamcast version of the game. I had no idea there were too Japanese Lys, this is even more confusing now.

In any case, I can't seem to find an in-game screenshot of Ly from the Japanese version of Revolution, so this would definitely be a worthy addition.

The Dreamcast Japanese Ly looks a lot better to be honest, I have no idea what they were thinking for her Japanese Revolution design. I'm almost getting Tily vibes thinking about it, and I may even argue that it's worse than Tily. :fou:

This is the Dreamcast version, which doesn't look so bad in comparison:

I don't see one of these Japanese Dreamcast ones on RayWiki under Ly's article, unless I'm just blind. :P

There is this screenshot that was shared on Twitter, but the quality is not the best:

Well, unless someone has the ROM handy, this could do the trick for now, if we can identify the source to properly credit them, of course.

I never thought this could be possible, but here we are.

It was only in the French article for some reason, but I've just added it to the English one as well.

Oh that makes sense, I hadn't even taken notice of the variations in the Japanese games being part of the articles.

I can somewhat understand the colour changes, even if they look somewhat unusual, but why did they change Ly's face. :P

The Dreamcast Japanese Ly is 1000 times better. I wonder why they were changing her in the PS2 version...

I agree that the Dreamcast one is fine, but I have no clue what the idea was on PS2. It literally looks like a modified meme face.

Speaking of memes and how freaky Ly looks in the PS2 version, has anybody seen Polokus without his hat? xD
He looks even more terrifying.

I'm not sure about where the screenshot from Twitter came from, so I guess I will have to take it from here:

Yep, sounds like a great idea.

After noseless Rayman, hatless Polokus. This series is an endless supply of nightmare fuel. :hap:

I remember that. It tracked your mouse movement and logged how far you had moved your cursor on the screen since installation, with milestones like "enough to climb Everest" and the like. Getting past certain milestones was supposed to unlock goodies, but by the time I got to any of them, said goodies had been deleted from Ubisoft's website in the great Rabbid purge in 2006. :pascontent:

Ah yes, I remember WinAmp. If only because AOL bundled it with Netscape for a while, and I was really into the chronology of web browsers.

I've somehow never heard of WinAmp before now, I grew up on Windows Media Player and its' visualizations instead. That skin is super nice to look at though, it even has a little Robopirate symbol on the top there, which reminded me that I hadn't really been on lately. I bet a RayTunes skin like that would look very nice. More skins and themes for things would be great really, but I have no idea how those even work, it's like magic to me. :mryellow:

Sometimes I forget how low the average user age is at Rayman Pirate Community. :D I must say it is, almost certainly, the happiest and friendliest internet community that I know, where both kids and old dinosaurs like me can feel welcome and right at home. :hinhin:

Just shows you how amazing the Rayman universe truly is. It brings out the best in people.

The weirdest thing is that WinAmp still exists AFAIK. I remember last year seeing a story about how Wine had fixed some bug with trying to run WinAmp, and assumed it was a retro thing, but it was actually related to one of the newest versions!
