Plus people who I meet daily ( and who play video games ) are talking only about these games, and fucking annoys me and makes me sad that they have no need for anything else, and that their taste narrows down to this point.
The thing that makes me a bit happier is that for example, one of my classmates has Rayman Jungle Run on his phone, plus when I had my tab and Rayman on it, many people have played with it and actually liked it.
Though for me it is inexplicable why the number of people who play platformers and games alike is relatively small compared to fps games.

As for Mario 64, meh. Honestly, I respect it for what it did for the platforming genre, but in no way do I consider it the pinnacle, its own successors like Galaxy have pretty much built upon, refined and even expanded on what it has done, and I honestly think the outcome is far superior.
The main problem with people like that is that they deep inside still find Platformers fun, but just wont admit it. Not to mention that they are also very easily butthurt. Prime example of that is Rayman Legends delay. They were thinking that game is good but suddenly after delay, they forget about it and go play newest GTA or CoD instead. It could be because of others or something that most of those people let themselves believe that Platformers are bad and that GTA and CoD are superior games and not that they truly think that themselves.Haruka said:It actually saddens me how the number of platform players decreased progressively with the technology evolution. When before pretty much everybody was playing platforming games without feeling shame, now you only look badass if you play an FPS and bash a platformer since it "is for small kids and FPS is really for men". Sure, people are free to play what they want and to have their own tastes, but this kind of argument (if it can be even considered to be one) saddens me. Unfortunately, it is what it sells well. That and FIFA. Since it is what it sells, it is what people make. That's the reality.

I know this is opinion based but I find Galaxy way better than 64. It maybe took out the freedom Mario 64 had but I would prefer lack of freedoom than to constantly be lost![]()
What Mario 64 needs is a Wii U remake similar to DS version with map and characters but just full HD of course, and better controls (doing some jumping tricks and such can be real pain in N64 version :/)
While I do absolutely love the Croc games and the original Spyro trilogy, I'd much, MUCH rather play Super Mario 64 instead. You have more control over Mario in 64 overall, which is what seals the deal for me. Though fighting about that would be useless.
Haruka said:The DS remake of Mario 64 is really good, I did enjoy it more than the original N64 title. At least it was possible to fully complete it by yourself without external help while Sunshine isn't really the case (urgh, those blue coins!). But it isn't the best Mario title and it isn't my favourite Mario title either. This was the game that Mario did conquer me:

And that is exactly why the best way of playing SM64DS is on 3DS. Having analog pad makes it MUCH more enjoyable. Rayman DS even if played on 3DS with analog still sucks thoughHaruka said:A note about Super Mario 64 DS' controls, I know they are not perfect but at the time it really did not affect me because it was my first DS game and the console was quite recent too.
