Rayman 3

The only place I can think of with anything like this is that tower on the Land of the Livid Dead part 3, but at the same time, they're just missable if you free the Teensie without collecting all the gems beforehand (since he turns it into a portal). I guess it's not the same as falling accidentally and missing them in the Prison Ship though.

I would've thought every single bit of Rayman 3 is like this, since it's so easy to screw up a combo and have to start again!

Yes, that's where R3 fundamentally differs from R2; In R2 on a replay you only have to get what you missed. In R3 - you have to collect everything again.

You probably don't know how many times I lost my temper because of things like this, and hoodlums killing other hoodlums like feckin' eejits! :mefiant:

Indeed, a good RNG is required in quite a few places to get the best configuration. It must take a lot of patience to get a double Razoff glitch. :fou2:

This literally took me hours! And even then, I think I only got 3 hits. I hate the Bog of Murk! :pascontent:

It's been a while since I've played, maybe I meant I got two hits then. I just remember it taking hours to work and it having to be a combo after 5 yellow gems to make it more annoying.

As if the Bog of Murk part 3 isn't bad enough without having to deal with the Razoff stuff.

I found a polish Rayman 3 demo, but for some reason it says "Rayman 2: The Great Escape", I guess it was a mistake?

I found a ton of new stuff in that prototype.

First off, the disc contains videos not played by the prototype in which Rayman still has his old R2 model. Sadly, no audio. Some of them are very different from the final cutscenes!

What's more, it also contains 2 full texture archives from different dates:
- One from an old (dated november 2000!) version of the game, which includes textures for the aquatic world and various other places that never made it into the final game. In the linked archive, you can find this in "textures_cnt". The zaqoas, desert, vegetal and gorge folders are super interesting, and Charact contains a bunch of textures for old designs.
- One from the game at the time of the prototype (May 17, 2002). You can find this in "textures_txc". This includes many final textures, but also a ton of textures that never made it into the final game. Clark and Ssssam are there, old Rayman costume textures, the old autumn mountain level textures, and more.

Lastly, I also found some old arrangements for R3 tracks that I'll add to RayTunes later. Nothing very special.

This is already pretty big, but I have yet to add support for this prototype to Raymap!
I'll keep you guys updated if I find anything more.

This is amazing! We've got Rayman 2 prototype footage and now this. I have wanted to play that build ever since I saw it. I'm downloading it right now to take a look.
Will also check out these prototype assets, thanks Droolie for analyzing them!
Well, now that the search for this beta is complete, I am waiting for the R2 E3 1998 build.

Wow! This is incredible!

This made me come back to the forums after so long
because this is a huge discovery! I’m glad Droolie shared the content too I will definitely give this prototype a try!
I was always interested in playing the early builds and I was just waiting for one day for them to appear!
All the differences too, it’s amazing how many there are!
I love how Razoff Mansion sounds with the Csus2 chord with the brass section in the beginning from the early arrangement. Also the Begoniax Cauldron Chaos track seems to have some other arrangement too. Just those small details fascinate me!

Thank you Droolie, this is so amazing! Is this supposed a hotter version of Begoniax in that cutscene? Because she's still ugly as hell. 😂

And what about the Hoodblaster with chain mail, is that new?

Thanks for sharing your finds Droolie! I wonder if the files also contain early names of characters like the Teensie doctors.

I've downloaded the demo, I'll have to take a look sometime!

Those cutscenes are all a bit different, but that Bégoniax / Razoff one is a particularly cool find! :P So I guess the original plot was that Razoff's tears turned out to be the beauty potion that Bégoniax had been in search of for so many years. Showing her jumping through the mirror was a nice touch – I guess it would have ruined the pacing in the final version, but it would've been nice to have it there as an explanation for why Globox's voice can be heard through it at the beginning of the level…

Another thing, I'd kinda got the impression that Razoff was gay, but apparently that's not what they had in mind, at least when they made this version of the cinematic. :hap:

Amazing finds!
Is there a specific PSCX2 configuration to play the demo? Because when I launch it all environments textures are black.
