Rayman 3

Hello, everyone. I have two questions. What is this place? It looks like Bog of Murk but very old. There's early model of Stumbleboom.

And what's this machine on a board? It didn't appear in final version of the game.

For the bog of murk one, it's very likely to be the Bog of Murk.
Like here: https://raymanpc.com/wiki/en/File:Rayman-3-beta-000003.jpg
You can see Rayman walks on a thing that is present in the left part of your screenshot (it seems?).
For the second idk

This pic of the ship and the machine on it reminds me of rare Rayman 3 pictures I found on a website long time ago, but I cannot remember the website anymore.

Not my fault that the pics are too small.

There aren't any cannons on these pictures. Here's a picture of the ship in better quality.

Yeah, the big picture and the smaller ones show no cannons, which is kinda interesting. Beta ship maybe? The machine seen on all pictures, isn't in the final version and maybe was meant to help Rayman with something. Probably the reason no cannons are shown here, because the machine was intended to do something useful! Who knows. Another interesting thing discovered!

That Bog of Murk pic looks more like The Bayou or something, neat. I feel like a lot of these early shots hint to the idea that Rayman 3's environments started off very similar to Rayman 2. Has there ever been any screenshot of that cut world?

Also, Rayman 3 got a retro review today:

Doesn't seem to be a huge fan though.

They also reviewed Rayman 2, from what I've gathered, their opinion on 3D Rayman is lukewarm. They expressed preference for the 2D titles in the Rayman 2 review, if I remember right.

It's fair enough, different strokes for different blokes. I do think Rayman needs a 3D revival though, R2 and R3 came out over 10 years ago, and it'd be nice to see what modern gaming tropes and ideas could do to refresh the 3D Rayman formula.

Overall, I have to admit I was disappointed with this game. While the gameplay was a lot more polished than Rayman 2 and the gimmicks were a lot more controlled and refined; the whole experience just feels like a step backwards. Everything else is worse—from the story, to the pacing, to the sound, and in the end I only felt compelled to beat this game just so I could write this review. That is not the sign of a good game and it’s a shame that this was the last original 3D Rayman title before the Rabbids took over for all those years. But if the series was continuing in this way, then maybe that Rabbid takeover was not really a bad thing after all.

Damn that guy didn't like this game, I think :fou:

Uhm that machine on the ship looks very interesting.

Also, I didn't know Globox was supposed to follow you in Razoff Mansion.

Luckily, after all these years, i do not know (and only have a very faint idea what happens, too faint as a matter of fact) what happens at the end of Rayman 3, and after playing most of it for the first time last Summer-Fall (of last year of couse) I'm currently in the Armaguiddon part with Globox, so I'm already almost done, and in celebration of Gravity Fall's finale in less than 24 hours away, i think its a good time for me to finish the game off! I Hope that Reflux's 2nd battle isn't all to tough...

And after we get our 3D Rayman revival, maybe we can also get a 2D Rayman game that plays like a 2D Rayman game and not a Mario game.

Apologies if this has been answered (I tried doing some searching for this on the forums with no results), but was it ever figured out what the instrumental track used in the game's first full trailer was?

I know that it's some pre-existing stock song not made exclusively for the trailer as I heard it in the background of a show on MTV or something similar years later, but I've never been able to find its name. I even tried Shazaming it just now and even that app was stumped.

You might find something in the comments. I checked quickly and found someone saying it was Darude - Sandstorm

I'll do some more searching, but it's not Sandstorm. It's been a prank meme for a while to list that as the answer to any "what's that song?" request.

Still want to know if that classical sounding song when the three Teensie Doctors operate on Globos was original or not.

@Behonkiss
I think that it is just a music from an early stage of game developing.
Shazam gives nothing

@up Got4an has some contacts with some former R3 devs, you may ask him.
