Rayman 3

Sigh that green gem is difficult to obtain for me too. Compared to the Bog of Murk’s notorious combo this is oddly much harder for me to obtain. This is after restarting the Bog of Murk numerous times, but at least it eventually worked whereas in TSBTC it was (and still is sometimes) difficult for me to chain them all together due to how awful i am with the funky board controls in this stage.

Somehow I missed Spyro's message until now, but wow, memories! I too remember accessing the original RaymanZone site via a dial-up connection. I don't think I even have a concept of how slow that was anymore, but perhaps that's part of the reason that I never visited the forum…

And yeah, that green gem. Does anyone even know what the trick is for getting it? :fou2:

Just lose the race on purpose and try again. Keep right when you go off the edge and if you miss it just let Globox pass you by running into the wall then you get to try again :P

Is that minigame Mad Trax?

I was talking about The Summit Beyond The Clouds where you race Globox to the bottom.

Yup!

I'm not even sure if there's a real strategy for accurately getting that green gem perfectly every time on the first trip through the slopes. Not to mention all those tricks I have to be doing...

Yeah... also getting just most of the yellow gems is pretty difficult for me.

It's hard to get them ALL in like one run. Which is why I think this phase is harder than the infamous luck-based Hoodlum in BOM3. And then I said, adding all those tricks and hitting all those Spineroos. Oh and not to mention that after the first run tricks no longer give you points so you have to think about that too.

Kind of hard to handle with how fast he goes but you can always lose the race on purpose

Hard? All in one run? Impossible more like there's 2 paths at least :P

Yes. Yes there is.
I'd say the first run I stick to all the top paths and do tricks going to the bottom. (And get that green gem the first time hopefully)
The second run grab everything else missed (and hopefully not miss anything)

When I get back into this game there's a good chance I'm going to be repeating this stage millions of times...

I just noticed when getting sprites and paying attention to it properly, R3 GBA is advanced enough that if you punch, Rayman has no second fist / shoe until it returns. Even the newer RRR didn't do that and it still has the 3 fists / shoes glitch which makes it kind of odd considering that would be newer.

So making that work in the project game is gonna be fun now :fou2:

Hahaha so that glitch of having 3 fists/shoes is still there? Things don't change, it seems

It is in RRR but they fixed it in R3 first, then broke it again in RRR

Maybe they got lazy in RRR or liked 3 shoes Rayman.

Nice shoes 3 feet

Well I guess you could say on the other hand, wait which one?
