Rayman 3

Wow, I just watched those May 2002 demos, and looking at those early black lums, I think I may have recalled seeing some strange looking black lum textures that have a very similar design to the ones shown on that demo while I was looking at Rayman 3 HD's files. Maybe I can see if those textures are still there somewhere.
You speak of these textures ?

Speaking of Rayman 3 HD, I heard many unused textures and other stuff are in Rayman 3 HD, right? Can someone show all those unused textures found in the files of Rayman 3 HD? I am really interested in seeing those.

I had never actually thought of that. I have the game for Xbox360 but I'm assuming it's going to use weird file extensions. I'll have a look later though.

Yeah, that's them.

Yeah, the Xbox 360 version has the textures compiled, but the PS3 version doesn't and can be viewed easily.

Well Rayman 3 HD is free with PS plus this month but wouldn't I need a jailbroken PS3 to veiw those files? I'm guessing removing the HDD from my PS3 and plugging it into my PC won't work.

Yeah, you need a PS3 with CFW, but PS3s are so easy to hack nowadays it's almost as easy as hacking a Wii U on firmware 5.5.1.

Really? The last time I looked into it, it was really complicated. I'll have to check this out :P

OK so I've managed to do that and I have a CFW PS3 now :D

I had 2 but one was too new to do. I honestly didn't know there was a new exploit because they're usually just fake surveys

That glitch is similar enough to the flying barrel glitch in Rayman 2. The fact that the held object can reappear suggests that they inserted further fail-safes to guard against null-pointer crashes.

So I extracted all the files from Rayman 3 HD and all of the textures seem to be flipped vertically for some reason :P

I guess that one of the new thing that Ubisoft made for this remaster instead of fixing the glitched water.

There's lots of textures and other stuff there too. Was there Rayman concept art in HD? There's a lot of Rayman 1 art images in it.

There Rayman Origins concept art in the game but not Rayman 1 as i know, maybe it’s from 2D madness ? Can you show us the concept art ?

Here's some of them after I flipped them the right way up. There's far more stuff but this is just a few of the sprites/art from Rayman 1 that seems to be in the game for some reason. The Xbox buttons are also there even though it's PS3 and it also has pictures in a folder of a weird menu where the buttons are on the bottom instead of the usual place.

Rayman 3 HD has a lot of leftover textures from 2D Nightmare, and also a few more textures that weren't used in 2D Madness at all. And yes, they also leftover the menu textures from the Xbox 360 version AND the ORIGINAL Xbox version! They left so many unused textures in the PS3 version because they didn't even bother compile them into archives like the 360 version did that it's pretty much a treasure trove of unused stuff to find. :P

I think some of the stuff is pretty cool that's left there. It even has the original textures names like this one called "alcoolprune" which would be a typo for "alcoholprune" :P

The manual texture is also called booklet and the powers textures are named snipingfist (Shock Rocket), forcefist (HMF), grappling (Lockjaw), superheli (Throttle Copter) and tornado (Vortex)

Mmmh... I wonder if we can acces 2D Nightmare in Rayman 3 HD since there still asset of the level ?
Btw, maybe we can use these texture in Rayman 1, who know ? :P

It's not a typo, that's how it's spelled in French!
I don't think we can access 2D Nightmare. It's just like ICUP said, they just made all the textures HD and threw them in without bothering to check whether or not they were actually used. Now if there were to be a HD remake of the GC version, with the 2D Nightmare bug fixed, that would really be something…
Using the textures in Rayman 1? Somehow I don't think that engine can take HD textures. :P

Yeah I think a 240p game might not utilise HD :P

But yeah i noticed that afterwards and how a folder is objets in more than one game too. It's funny how it's actually named alcohol though.

Gamespot got May 2002 demo too.

Screenshots (I already uploaded more interesting on the wiki):

I have a new version of Rayman 3 PS2 demo. I think it wasn't shown yet. It has the time limit and other changes.
